How long did you date before marriage?

DH and I met in October of 93, bought our first house together in July of 94 and got engaged in September of 95. We were blessed that my family is a big of Disney fans as we are and they hosted a WDW wedding in December of 96. All together we were together 3 years and 2 months before our wedding day.

I started dating Dh when I was a senior in high school. He graduated the year before me so he wasn't in school. Our first date was on Halloween 1998. We got engaged in June 1999 (about 2 weeks after I graduated) and were married Nov. 27, 1999. All in all we dated about 13 months.

We were married 4 months and 2 days after we met. Would have been sooner but my mother insisted on a small wedding.

Dated 1.5 years. Lived together 1.5 years. Then got married. I knew when we met that he was the one. The day after we met I told my co-workers that I was going to marry him.

We've been together since June of 2001. We will be getting married soon. Engaged over a year. I knew the second I met him that I wanted to marry him but I wasn't about to rush into it. If he had asked only a couple of months into our relationship, I'd have said no. Its far too short a time to know each other well.

We met September 26, 2000, moved in together December 22, 2000 and got engaged March 14, 2001 and were married September 1, 2001. We just both knew immediately. We weren't kids. He was 42 and I was 36. On our first date we were both DH says waiting would have just postponed the inevitable!! Might as well get on with it. Not very romantic but it's worked for us quite well.

I voted wrong... should have been 2 - 3 years. I did mention in another thread, that my mom and dad got married 13 DAYS after their 1st date, and were married 23 years, untile he passed away.

We met in the spring of '96 and were dating in by summer of '96. We were engaged in the Fall of '97 and got married in Oct 2000. We wouldn't have waited so long if we both weren't in college and wanted to finish before we got married

Can't answer yet because technically we're still dating. But we'll have been together 3 years in June. Were probably not moving in together for another year (waiting until graduation), and then DBF says he wants to live together for 1 year first (even though we've really been living together for the last 3 years, between our two places. Our stuff just isn't together).
