How long did you date before marriage?

You'd be surprised. My grandparents met in Boston after WWII, married 2 weeks later and were married until they died. Of course that was a different generation.. they made people more sticky back then

4-1/2 years (engaged for 18 months of that). We got married two weeks after I graduated from college. We'll be married 14 years in June.

I guess I'm sticky too, although not as quick as your grandparents. DH and I dated about two weeks before getting engaged, and got married three months later. 24 years later, still stuck, although I have threatened to drop a bowling ball on his head a few times.

I've known him since I was 2, he was 4. I was best friends with his sister. We started "dating" in November 2000 when I was 13. We've been on and off throughout the years and became officially engaged in October 2009.

With that, we don't really plan on getting married in the immediate future. The tentative time is November 2012 though. I'll be 25 and he'll be 27.

Met DH when we were about 15. We started dating just after I turned 19. We got engaged 10 months later but waited until I graduated College at 23 to get married but never lived together. Smartest thing I ever did was say yes we'll be married 17 years come November.

We dated for 10 months before marriage....but it was also a long distance relationship! We have been married for 20 years now, so it worked out

My DH and I married 25 months to the day after we started dating. I was 15 when we started dating and it was a very long distance relationship. He was stationed in Germany (Army) and I was in Michigan. Later he was transfered to Arizona. The longest we were together in person was about 10 days while we were dating and we saw each other just twice a year so we only spent under 2 months in person together in that time. We got engaged after 6 months and married 2 weeks to the day after I graduated from high school. People were placing bets at our wedding on how long it would last. It will be 17 years next month!
