How long did it take to figure out what this was?

It took me 3 trips to Disney to figure out what this was. I kept on seeing them in all the bathrooms. I originally thought it was part of an old shower curtain rod hanger. But on the last trip I finally figured it out. It’s a line to hang your wet clothes on to dry.

How long for me? I'm thinking maybe 3-6 months ... but I was likely only 7 when I started thinking about it. Haven't they been used in hotels ... like ... forever?

Me too! Glad they have them at Aulani too. Was disappointed after we left Aulani and cruised back on Celebrity and they didn't have the laundry line in their showers. First cruise ship that we have done that didn't. I don't even carry a laundry line with me anymore.

BTW, the first time I opened the line at BLT in 2010, it broke. All I had in my hand was the knob. Boy was I shocked and kind of sheepish to call it in. It turns out it happens a lot. So I could really say--It's not my fault!

I can definitely imagine the excitement when the lightbulb went off finally figuring it out. I've had my share of those moments too.

We drive to WDW from New England and usually stay in a hotel overnight. Maybe I’m to tired from driving, but I cannot recall any of these in the hotels I have stayed at. I will admit I have not stayed at many hotels. Growing up my parents had a cottage on a lake in Vermont, so our vacations were driving 3 hours to Vermont. No hotel stay needed. Guess I’m the only one to have never seen these.

That round nipple the cord comes out of screws in or out. counterclock wise it puts less tension on the string and the reverse is true for clockwise. Have you even put things on the line and it sagged a LOT?

In my 30's before I was told and I travelled for work back then!

I had used them in hotel rooms and on cruise ships before becoming a DVC member back in '93. So I always knew what they were.

Ok, we’ve learned that some of you need to get out more! You can’t leave your bathing suit outside to dry after the sun has set, with the humidity it never dries, so this is where you hang them after everyone has showered! or your “unmentionables” if you hand wash them!

I didn't bother using ours at Pop, because with the new shower doors, you have to get into the shower to string it up. Unless you have excessively long arms to reach around. I do not. I just hung the suits over the shower doors or the towel bar. It was usually just my daughter swimming, so no big deal on hanging space.
