How long could your family survive?

After about a week and a half, DH would have to go commando.

The rest of us, though, could go about 2-3 weeks and be fine. DD15 would debate me, and say she hasn't enough clothes to go that long, but I say she does, she'd just have to wear ALL of them, which would, of course, ruin her life. *rolls eyes*

At least 28 days for my DD15!

It was 28 days ago that I told her I will no longer be doing her laundry & that she will now have to do it herself.

She STILL has not asked me to show her how. Hers is just piling up in her room.

She is now wearing shirts/shorts I haven't seen in a longggg time. Her closet still looks quite full though....I figure she's got AT LEAST two more weeks worth of clean stuff to wear.

I've been doing my own laundry since middle school. In high school i forbade anyone to touch my clothes.

I'm starting fresh on new undies, so i only have like 15 pairs. I used to have like 60, and when i moved out, i finally chucked all the old ones out.

Socks, probably a few weeks. Those are my next to replace.

Now i'd run out of jeans fast. Since i'm no longer sharing clothes with kari. I'm down to 4 pants and 2 shorts. I've got a ton of shirts and about a dozen winter sweats, but it's too hot for those.

I usually wind up with only a half a load of laundry when i need to get it done.

Well, probably too long. When my ex and I lived together we both worked ALL the time so neither one of us would ever do laundry (we lived in an apartment with no washer and dryer so we'd have to go to a laundromat). I have about 2 months worth of clothes and underwear for any season and could probably go 3-4 months if I included other seasonal clothes and went commando a few days ;). I haven't had to shop for just about anything since we broke up though! :)

I have two weeks worth of sports bras and work out clothes so I could even work out for a couple of those weeks!

I can only go about 6 days then I have to wash. I just can't find undies that fit comfortably. Every time I find some that are great and buy one to try it out by the time I go back they have discontinued that style. Even if it is only 2 days later. My dh could go about 3 weeks though.

Wow! How many clothes do ya'll have? DD17 could probably go 2wks. DH & Christian, maybe a week. I would be tapped out in less than 5 days. I just don't have many clothes or shoes, I guess. Should I feel deprived? :confused3

Without doing a single load of laundry, and still be wearing all clean clothes?

We could probably last about two weeks. I like to stay stocked up on socks and underwear. It better be summer though, cause we might have to dig into the shorts by the end of the two weeks. :rotfl:

It is just DH and me. We only do laundry every other weekend and we survive fine.

DH would run out of underwear in about a week and a half. He wouldn't know what to do, and would probably go "commando" until...

... He ran out of shorts.

Shorts would follow shortly after, and he would probably re-wear each pair at least once.

Then he'd turn to jeans, and he'd wear each pair of jeans twice, and then he'd be stuck with no underwear, no shorts, and no jeans after about three weeks.

He could probably get by with his sweatpants for another week, but he wouldn't be happy.

He has too many pairs of socks to keep track of, and even if he ran out, he'd be fine going sockless, or wearing sandals.

He would be fine as far as t-shirts are concerned... FOREVER. He has a closet full of shirts, and a whole dresser of drawers full of shirts on top of that.

But without pants, he'd be screwed in about a month!

I don't understand not having time to do laundry, but having time for all that shopping?:confused3

I go commando a lot of the time. But I still have about 10 days worth. DFiance has the same. He doesn't go commando but he also throws underwear out after about 2 months... it grosses him out thinking of how old the underwear is... lol, he's so cute.

ETA: I have A LOT of socks so I think I'd be good there for 3 months. I love good socks.

I would be able to last for about a month as I own 30 pairs of underwear (is that too much?). I think I would also have enough clothes to last that long as well but I would be pulling out stuff that I have not worn in years.

A month. I have a lot of clothes first off, and then I have a lot of different bras and undies to go with various clothes so that I don't have VPL or bra straps showing, or the wrong color to show through with light pants. Plus, I wear a lot of sandals and girl shoes without socks.

Of course, I might not match outfits by the end of it and I'd be forced to wear that one skirt I dislike but spent too much on to get rid of just yet.

HA, so i'm not the only crazy diser with 2 months worth of underwear. Well used to be. Packing in two suitcases, kinda made me toss all the old out. Plus i'm liking hanes more than fruit of the loom.
I don't see how it's so odd to have lots of pairs, most the time, they come in 5-7 a package. If i ever tossed a few, i'd wind up with a new package and a few more than before.
Same thing with socks. Those usually come in 10s, so if like 4pairs got holes, i'd toss those and buy a new bag.

The kids and I could almost go a month, but DH would be out of everything except underwear in about 10 days. DH has tons of underwear, but not many regular clothes. The kids and I have way too many clothes. I love to buy clothes and since I travel around the state, I love to spend my lunch hour in various little shops and thrift stores.

DS roomed with a few girls last year and they were amazed at how many clothes he has. They had never seen a boy with so many.

DD is now getting hand me downs from her DSIL, so she is well stocked too! Me I have black pants in many different sizes and styles. I have fat day pants, skinny day pants, capris, dress, casual...

Two weeks, mostly due to short inventory in the underwear, socks, and bra wardrobe for both myself and DD. Then again, where do people put more than 14 days worth of clothing?:)

DH and I just recently went thru and rearranged our dresser drawers, so I know for a fact that I have:

14 pairs of jeans.
12 pairs of capris.
32 pairs of shorts.
8 pairs of sweats/jogging pants.
10 pairs of dress pants.

So for bottoms, I am good for 76 days. And that isn't counting the skirts/dresses that are in the closet that I could wear.

For tops - lets just put it this way, it's not often that when I find a shirt that I like and I don't buy it. I have more shirts then bottoms.

If I went without underthings, I am all set for 2+ months. No need for socks, as soon as it's warm, you will not find me in a pair of shoes, it's sandels only.

They sell underwear in packages for adults? The only time I ever bought underwear in a package was for my kids when they were very little.

It's easy when you do it all online on your lunch break at work :thumbsup2. I HATE shopping but I know what I want and what I'm looking for. Most online shopping takes me less than 15 minutes (although I don't shop hardly at all anymore, I'm slowly getting rid of things as they get worn out or the more weight I lose [I don't have anymore to lose now so I'm going through the process of getting rid of a lot of clothes!]). I buy undies from Victoria Secret online when they go on sale for 5 for $20 or $25 and I have a discount code and I buy a ton and get rid of the old ones.

Now that I actually have a washer and dryer where I live [and I don't work 7 days a week] it's easier to do laundry. I do wear all of my clothes though. :goodvibes It just takes awhile to get around to them all!

Yep they sure do. As long as you aren't a matchy-matchy girl and you just want a pair of draws and a bra - here you go.

Nothing wrong with the matchy-matchy sets, I just don't want to spend the money on them. Give me a plain ol pair of draws and I am happy.
