How long can I wait to order MVMCP tickets?

Have ressies for end of November, and will go to the first MVMCP on November 30. How long can I wait to order tickets and not risk my only available date being sold out? Thanks!

We're going to the MVMCP on the 18th of December. I was told that these tickets go quickly, so we already bought ours, they arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm not an experienced DISer though, so I could be greatly misinformed. :D

BTW, Hiya from a fellow Biloxian!

As soon as I posted the question, I knew what the answer from many would be. I just ordered my tickets! I guess I was thinking that we might change our minds. We just got back (mid-June) from two weeks at WDW, but by the time 4 more months go by, I know we'll be ready to get out of town! Last year was our first time to go at this time of year, and I guess it will be our new tradition.

Does anyone ever wait until they get there to get there MVMCP tickets?

In 2001, I bought them for a Sunday night the day before when we checked in. Last year I bought them the same day for a Tuesday night. Friday nights were the only nights that sold out last year. The reason I waited until the same day last year and had to pay extra (no advance discount) was the weather forecast was so iffy. We were going to go Tuesday and get the tickets when we checked in the previous Saturday but the weather looked bad. So we were thinking of Thursday. Then after a 24 hour rain ended on Tuesday afternoon and it looked good, I ran and bought them. Good move because Thursday night was heavy rain again. We're planning on Tuesday Dec 9 this year but will wait until we get there again. It usually does not rain much in December but last year several MVMCP's were washouts.

What do they do in the event of a heavy rainstorm? It would be a real bummer to be out $134 if the weather was so bad, we just couldn't make it.

Southernwingz--don't think I've ever ran across another "Biloxian" on these boards! Have a great trip.:)

Buy your tickets now! We purchased ours July 14, but didn't get them until yesterday. They come with a suggestion to make a PS for Liberty Tree Tavern the night of the party. Well, I called and all PS were sold out that night--Dec. 9. So a lot of people are booking early.

I also tried to make PS for LTT on the night we're doing MVMCP, Dec. 18th, but was informed that there's nothing available. :(

Last year they offered refunds or exchanges to those who complained since the parades did not run & the outdoor shows were not shown. We were at MGM on the Thursday night I mentioned and just made it out of Osborne Lights when it started to pour. By the time we got back to Boardwalk on the boat it was torrential rain. It would have been miserable to be at MVMCP or CP that night.

southernwingz - call back!!!

I saw your post and got nervous because I've been holding off on spending the $$$ yet but did want to go to LTT. I had called last week and they had from 5:15 on open but still wanted to wait.

Well I just called and had a wonderful CM with a cold who before saying "nothing really is available" I guess she was doubting it herself, she put me on hold and checked with dinning. Turns out there is a special box they need to check off to pull up the LTT ressies and she didn't realize it, so she did and then they all popped up. I got 5:15, but she had 5:20 on including several before 6:00pm so call back and make sure they check it properly.

Good luck and I guess we'll see you there!:D

I've gone to MVMCP twice (isn't it sad, only twice?). 12/5/01 and 12/8/03. I bought my ticket the day before both times (at guest services in EPCOT). They weren't even close to being sold out according the the two different cms who sold the tickets to me.

I don't know if 11/30 is a more popular date or not, though.

I know that last year there were heavy rains the night before I attended and WDW did offer to allow people to attend again to make up for it, but they will tell you that there are no refunds in case of heavy rain because the park does not close. The parades may be cancelled but the rides still operate.

I'm planning to attend MVMCP on 12/4 this year and I probably won't buy my tickets early. I could get left out though. If you are concerned about them selling out for 11/30 then buy your tickets now. Then you won't have to worry about it.

mazzarafe - a thousand thank you's!!!!!!!!!!

I just called after reading your post and spoke with a lovely CM, Ginger Laura. She was super helpful! We now have a PS for the 18th at 5:10.

How does this work with the park closing at 5, and not opening back up until 7 for MVMCP?

You just go to the CM's with the clipboards as you enter the park and they will have a list of ps's and they will check your tickets and ps and give you your wristbands and send you on your way. You can enter anytime after 4:00pm I believe because of your ps and your ticket to the party. Last year for MNSSHP we got there about 4:30 and just went down to LTT to wait for our seating. They opened about 5:00pm and seated everyone waiting. When you are done eating they have everyone for the party go to a specific part of the park to wait for the official 7:00pm opening. We were in Fantasy Land last time and got to do some rides before the crowds came. It worked out great.

southerwingz, I'm going 12/18 the same night as you?

I'll have to make sure to wear a lime green ribbon or something, so you can spot me! :D Not to mention DBF thinks I can't go anywhere without knowing someone, so I always get a kick out of being somewhere and saying, 'hey, I know her/him'

The park closes at 6:00. If they do the same as the last 2 years, you can enter as early as 4:00 with your MVMCP ticket and get your wristband. Then when the park closes at 6:00 (last year they had fireworks at 6:00), we were asked to go to Tomorrowland, where the rides were still open for those with wristbands while they cleared out the rest of the park. Then at 7:00 everything reopened.

Thank you, DebbieB, this helps a lot. Where do you get these wristbands?

I think our plan now is to do EE at the MK that day, then probably head out at lunch time, take a break in the room, or do something relaxing, and then head back to MK for our PS at LTT and MVMCP.

I think I can never say this enough......I LOVE THIS MESSAGE BOARD! Y'all are the best!!!

You get the wristband after you pass through the turnstile, there's a cm standing there putting them on. We got there about 4:30pm last year and they dedicated the right side turnstiles to those with MVMCP tickets. It worked out great getting there early, everything had short lines.

southernwings,

I'm gonna try to wear a ribbon too. Last time we went they had everyone waiting to be seated when the restaurant first opened and I saw a few ribbons but I got shy to go up to anyone. Kinda odd for a thirtysomething year old but I do. I couldn't find ribbon at my MIL as she is very crafty so I just took yarn that was close to the right color and a stiched a row long enough to tie onto my stroller and waistpack.

I'm hoping this year not to freeze and be more outgoing, I only noticed a lime green ribbon one other time on our trip and we were in a rush at the time.

In regard to the LTT PS, I thought that all restaurants within the MK were on a 30 day out PS policy? Unless its different for LTT on the nights of the party, maybe that is why they are saying nothing is available there.

I will be at the 12/9 party, and was considering booking a PS at LTT. Anyone know whats up?

Thanks
