I am sure this has been asked a thousand times,....so I am sorry.....
How long does it take to get to the airport from WL or GF in late Sept late morning. Also what would you suggest as our cheapest option, Cab or Car service? How much do they run? My DH has to leave mid trip to take a lieutenants test for his fire dept...go figure they had to have it smack dab in the middle of our vacation!!! Thanks so much!!!!:thumbsup2

He can take a Disney's Magical Express bus for free, if he wants.

Each individual named on the reservation is entitled to a ride, and the ride to the airport doesn't have to be taken ON check-out day ... it can be taken on that day or on any day before that.

Thanks but we will be taking advantage of ME to and from on our arrival and departure days. Even if we could do ME we would do some type of car because it is quicker.....any thoughts?

Okay, I think I'm confused, but here's my answer to what I think you're asking:

Even if the rest of your family is taking ME on your arrival and departure days, your husband can still take it in the middle of your trip.

A car service will only save about 30 minutes. To me it wouldn't be worth the cost.

On the way from airport to resort, I disagree that a car service will be quicker than DME. Actual experiences just don't support the idea that car service will be quicker.

On the way back to the airport, a car service will save you at least 30 minutes because they don't pick-up as early as DME does.

But I still don't understand your response above ... perhaps there's a typo or you left a word out? EACH INDIVIDUAL is entitled to DME rides from the airport and to the airport. It's not like the reservation gets a ride ... each individual on the reservation gets their own ride. It doesn't matter that all the rest of you are using DME to get back to the airport on your departure day ... if your husband is departing on a different day than you, he is still entitled to that ride.

Is that what you're asking???:confused3

The actual ride time will be exactly the same as the actual ride time using Magical Express. One form of transportation won't/can't/doesn't get to the airport appreciably faster than any other form. Figure about forty minutes.

If you mean ride + airport wait time, well, MCO advises arriving two hours in advance of one's flight - so, as others have pointed out, he will have maybe 30 minutes more at GF than if he used Magical Express. Magical Express will cost $0; a taxi and a town car are about comparable in price, except that the town car will be a fixed price while the cab fare will be meter-driven.

Or do you mean he'll be going home and coming back? If that's the case, then you're right - he won't be able to use DME to get to the airport to go home for the test (or to get back to the resort when he returns). But if he's going home and staying home, he can use Magical Express. Each Guest is entitled to one airport-to-Disney ride on or after the day their reservation starts, and one Disney-to-airport ride on or before the day their reservation ends.
