How long at Hilton Head

Hello all!
I am thinking of driving to WDW on our next vacation and I was thinking of using a stop over at Hilton Head. My question is this: I was thinking of spending 2 nights there (having a day to look around before heading down to WDW) and maybe even a night on the way back to break up the trip and I was wondering if anyone has done this and what they look at as the pros and cons of doing such a thing? Also, best time of year recommendations are more than welcomed.

A couple of days would certainly give you a taste of the resort (which is beautiful). I've had visits ranging from 2-12 days and never felt I'd had enough.
I haven't visited in summer, but had great stays in spring and over Xmas.

If your days "down and back" to WDW are weekend days, remember that the points are not only higher on weekends, but Saturday is even higher than Friday at HH. That said, I love the resort and am staying 6 nights in June. It's a place where you can do as much or as little as you want.

Unless you can get a Fri or Sat on a cash stay, I would recommend going on weeknights only. Fri nights are double weekdays and Sats are TRIPLE.

Since we are well past the 7 month window for June-Sept, you may also find availability limited for those months since they are the most popular for HH.

I think switching the 2 day stay for the trip back would work out better... a nice restful time after a busy WDW vacation.

Last year we spent 6 nights there... this year we upped it to 8 nights and I would love to squeak in one more night.
