When traveling with my dh we spend 14 days but split our stays between SSR and a monorail resort. I travel solo to SSR and my visits are between 8 to 10 days depending on the best deal for airfare.

I put down more than 3-weeks, counting how many nights for the year. Sometimes we've done more than 3 weeks at Disney, and sometimes less. It's not always just at DVC. Sometimes we'll use an II getaway and stay in another off-site condo, and still go to Disney.

We're retired so time is not an issue.

Sometimes we'll take a shorter 7 to 10 day trip somewhere, but most trips are in the 3 to 8 week range. Our next planned trip to Florida will be just about 7 weeks long. (Only 14 of those days will be in DVC). After that it's not back to Florida again until December for about 6 weeks (Which will have about 15 days at Disney) In between the two Florida trips, we'll do some local trips in the RV, such as going to the Smoky Mountains.
THinking that way, I would have voted the same as Bill. We usually go 2-3 times a year, so it is often 24-30 nights a year.

We usually stay 5 nites - Sun through Thurs. Too cheap to use points on weekends. LOL!

We've never switched resorts. We'll have to try this one of these years

We're anywhere from 5 - 7 nights. Before baby we stayed in studios. Since baby we prefer 1BRs. We've done a 2BR once and next month's trip will be 6 nights -- 5 of which are in a 2BR.

We typically do about 10 - 11 night every other year. First, airfare is so expensive from where we live and driving isn't feasible because my DH is limited on his time off and I want to spend every moment possible at WDW.

We are in the same West Texas boat! I like to make my trips longer, about 10 days every 1-2 years. First of all because we travel from El Paso and second because we like to take a lot of time and sleep in, sit by the pool, and take the parks easy with 3 kids. We will be staying in a studio for our first couple of trips home, I would like a 1br but DH would want me to cook :stir: and I'm not doing that! We max out our points with a studio for that long. Someday we'll have more but we're good for now.

We've done 10 nights, and 13 nights. Our next trip will be 11 nights, although not by choice (I wanted to do 13 nights again but couldn't get off of work that long). This will be our first trip home and we booked a one bedroom for OKW and SSR. We usually go to Disney only once every two years and live far (NY) so a longer trip makes sense for us, as well as the fact that we don't like that rushed feel. We are using all of our points and then some!!! Genie looked into my future and saw anther point purchase!!!

For myself.. my trips are 8 nights 9 days but this past March I spent 14 days at VWL and it was the best time..... 14 days was just about perfect but I will admit I could have stayed another week or so...

For us, the 5 nights (Sun-Fri) are perfect. We avoid the high weekend point costs and get just the right dose of WDW. It also allows us to take a couple of trips each year and experience the different things that go on.

Our most recent trip was 11 nights and was too long for us! We were ready to come home on Day 7. Of course, that was the day before I had to start attending a work conference, but still.... we were ready to go.

It all depends. Last year we had 3 trips. The first 2 were 7 nights, the last only 3. Depends on how much vacation time we have, what else is going on in our lives and airfare.

Right now we can take freqent short trips. Someday when our children are school age we may only go once but for 8 or 9 nights.

We are pretty fortunate that we have a lot of points and can stay for several days. Of late though we have used our points for cruising. This year had 4 day with two DS and me. Then DH and me for 7 day in September. Next year doing Med for 5 in Cat 6 and 11 for 5 of us.

We used to stay about 8-12 nights 3 times a year in a two bedroom. Now doing the cruises and a night here or there as we have a home about 12 minutes away.

We always stay 9 nights at a time. Anything less just doesn't seem long enough to me. And, we've gotten into a pattern. This year, 15 of us are going the second week in December for the Christmas party and holiday decorations. Then, next Oct/Nov, a smaller group will go back, again, for the Halloween/Food and Wine Festival activities. In '08, we'll skip a year to build the points back up, again, but in '09, the cycle starts all over.

231 days and counting . . . again!

:woohoo:

Well we drive down from New York and never stay less then 7 nites. we generally stay sunday to sunday. We also use all our points every year since we have visited WDW every year since ownership. The problem is we dont own enough points so we also rent a vacation home for 14 days every year also. Its not the same as styaing on the property but we have learned to adjust.

Ours tend to be 5 (Sun -Thurs.) We would rather have three trips per year than 1 or two. Avoiding weekends help accomplish this easily. We unfortunately are spoiled with booking 2 bedrooms for the 3 of us or our points would go even further. Oh well, we bought DVC for the extra space. If we wanted studios we wouldn't have bought in. We have done 8 days and we have an 8 day coming up with 5 at VB and 3 at VWL.

Our vacations are not always the same. The way my schedule works. We work 4 on, 4 off. 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off. I get 2 tours during the vacation season(may-sept,20 weeks) during a vacation I get 12 days off. but for the rest of the year, every 8 weeks I get fri, sat, sun and Mon off. DW works m-f. So for those weekends she'll take friday and Monday off and we'll do a long Disney weekend. But the vacations tend to be 10/11 days.

Seem to be averaging 2 - 3 trips/year, 7 or 8 nights - but, I think 9 nights is ideal for us (using 1 week's vacation/time). Unfortunately, we need more points to met this pace.

We usually stay for two weeks. As we live on the other side of the pond, shorter trips would work out more expensive because of the air fares. I think most people from the UK stay for two weeks.

We have 200 points and have stayed in a studio up to now but our son is getting older so we've booked a one bed this year by borrowing points. This means that we may not be able to go next year. I feel a case of addonitis coming on :goodvibes

5-nights in '03
12-nights in '05
7-nights in '06
14-nights in '07 (due to plan add-on and available points that must be used)

we find with the longer stays it is important to take a day or 2 to do nothing but unwind by the pool and eat good food :teeth: makes the kids less grumpy upon return as well (plus the pools are always the kids' highlight anyway)
