Close to being officially a dvc member. Passed rofr few weeks back. Today title co told me we closed. Now papers passed to Disney to transfer ownership. Anyone know how long until I get my account number and begin booking?

I had the same problem - try calling member services and see if they have your membership number. The number is 1-800-********. Hopefully that will help!

Not sure how the process works but doesntbdisney have to be given time to transfer ownership?

Give Disney three business days, then call to see if you're in the system.

Then call twice a day after that. Call once in the morning and once in the afternoon, give MS your name and last four of your social and hope they have you in the system. You will get to know certain Member service operators and they should be very helpful.
Have fun and enjoy the anticipation!

It can take a week or so depending on how busy they are. You account and points are loaded by different people so you might first have an account with no points, then a couple of days later your points will appear.

Thanks for your replies. I will try in a few days. I bought at blt. There are 2010 pts I need to use by June. Hopefully I can find something

I called today to check. Our contract closed in 2/21. We were not in the system in any capacity yet. The CM told me that it can take 2-3 weeks from a resale purchased. I just said "Ok thanks." I'll call again tomorrow, and everyday after until we are in the system. I'm looking forward to playing around online to learn online reservation system.

We are going to book a Nov trip. Right now as planned, I'm going to have to borrow about 10 points from 2013. If I change the reservation after making it with the borrowed points for something that doesn't require the borrowed points, do they go back to 2013, or are they stuck as 2012 points?

From everything I have read, once you borrow points you cannot unborrow them. It is a final transaction.

As PP stated, borrowing is a final transaction, so the points can't be "put back" into 2013 if you modify your reservation.

What you can do, though, is ask the CM at MS to keep the borrowed points in the reservation and instead return current UY points to your account. Then, if you are still in your banking window, you can bank them to '13. HTH.

That's what I thought. This is why I'm anxious to get into the system! We aren't' planning on using our 2013 points at this time we planned on banking them for 2014, so I need to make sure based on what's available that I get the reservation right the first time, so that when I borrow I don't have to change it later.

I was told today by a CM at members administration that it would be at least 2 weeks from our closing date depending on how quickly the title company sent over the paperwork.

That's so odd and so much longer than any of the anecdotes given by other members on here. The only time I read about it taking that long was the March 2011 rush. I hope that was just a bureaucratic answer to give themselves a cushion.

Me 2. We closed on 2/21. It's funny because yesterday the CM said it could take 2-3 weeks, but checked for my last name. Today a CM told me I needed my membership number (from member services) and she couldn't even check. Members administration was the one that said 2 weeks from closing date. Tomorrow will be 1 week so I'm not bothered. I'm just going to keep calling.

My title company agent told to keep calling. She said 10 business days at most. So I will keep calling.

Call once in the morning (around 11 am) and once in the afternoon (around 4 pm.). It really should be any day now if the contract was submitted a week ago.
