how late are park parking lots open?

We have dinner reservations at Boardwalk on the day we wanted to go to HS. Not a problem getting to and from; the problem is figuring out what to do with the car.

If we wanted to enjoy Boardwalk past the closing time of HS, would we still be able to get back to our car, parked at HS for the day, even though the park itself is closed? Or do you have to clear out of there at a certain time?

Another method would be to move the car from HS parking to Boardwalk parking, but that's a hassle.

Any ideas? We will be staying on site so we have free parking, don't know if that helps us out at all.

The parking lots are open all night, to the best of my knowledge. The only one that might not be would be AK, but not entirely sure. The others are open all the time....just to cover such situations.

why don't you park at the boardwalk and walk or take the launch to HS and then take it back or walk back to the Boardwalk. as long as you have a parking pass from your resort you can self park or valet at boardwalk with no time limit

I'd second the parking at Boardwalk idea, although you may not be able to park in "regular" parking if you go during busy times. You can always valet which is really simple to do and will allow you to leave your car there all day if you want to.

There is a lot across the street from the Boardwalk entrance that you can use if the Boardwalk lot is full.

Its been posted that they aren't going to tow your car or anything if you are late and its not like they can put a big gate around lot. Also I'm sure they expect and want people to go the Boardwalk after DHS closes and would expect them to leave their car in the DHS parking lot, but after a certain time expect to have to walk back to your car.

Just because you have a resort parking pass on your windshield it doesn't mean you can park at any resort, for however long you wish to. That parking pass entitles you to parking at your resort (the one you have paid to stay at) as well as in the parks. And that's it.
Now, having said that, there is no way to tell, today, if you will be able to self-park at BW on any given day. There are many times when no one is allowed to park there unless they can show a BW room key. Other times it's not an issue. If you want to park at BW, I would just park in the lower lot, behind the Hess station. You aren't taking up any guest parking spots that way, you don't need to worry if the security people are going to allow you in to the main lot to park.
Or, pay to valet for the day.
