How is Turtle Talk?

Turtle Talk wasn't running when we were at Epcot last. Has anyone seen it? Is there usually a wait time or a full theater? And does anyone know how exactly it works? I have a friend who was a CM at DL in the 70's and he says he can't figure it out . . . I'm guessing from the sound of it since I haven't seen it that it's a waldo puppet or such.

Its a BIG hit with kids and adults.

It is interactive "improv" with a real-time on-screen "digital puppet" ("Waldo" or otherwise) as the star.

The effect is perfectly performed.
Crush can actually SEE and HEAR the live audience, and he makes full use of that.

The actor perfoming Crush (there are several, due to scheduling, of course) is very funny and quick with his appropo joke responses to guests, young and old.

We have seen this show at least 10 different times and each show was markedly different due the the audience-members with whom Crush speaks.

It can get VERY backed-up waiting for this small theater show (15-20 minutes, or so) that seats maybe 100-125 guests (if you count the little kids who are encouraged to sit cross-legged on the floor in front of Crush's "tank").

I hope that when The Living Seas rehab is fully completed (its only utilizing about 1/2 its potential guest area now) that there would be a way (and there WOULD be) to create more than one Crush "encounter" at a time without spoiling the "magic".
At least a FP queue MIGHT help matters.

Turtle talk is a must see for all ages. We went to WDW w/my newphew and my parents in December and my DS kept saying we had to remember to go and talk to crush. My dad was hemming and hawing...but he loved it, too. He continues to ask my DS and nephew if they are dudes or dudettes... ;)

We've seen Turtle Talk several times and it's really great! especially if you have little ones that can sit in the front next to the screen because Crush makes it a point to talk to them and ask them questions. One time we were there and a little boy about 7 years old didn't get to talk to Crush so he was very upset. The castmember that works with Crush saw him and asked him to stay for a couple of minutes and Crush came back to talk to him! he was flying high! Occasionally if you ask them where some of the other fish are you will get to speak to them! we got to talk to Dory the first time we were there. Go see it, it's well worth the time!

It's fantastic and a must do if at epcot. The interraction with Crush is amazing. My son was sitting in the front row on the flooer and Crush asked him some questions. It was a real hit.

What else can you say? It was really cool to watch.

We loved Turtle Talk.. My hubby was crabby standing in line:"Why are we standing and waiting for? What's turtle talk anyway?" I told him to be quiet and just wait. Once we got in there, and Crush came out.. My hubby was in awe. He whispered to me, "Crush is actually talking." I think he was more impressed than our 8 yr old daughter. It's well worth any wait.
The only problem... Afterwards, you'll find yourself saying "Dude!" :thumbsup2

Dude, only 82 more days til I see the Mouse in his house.

we actually watched it twice! I had never heard of it and we were all hesitant
to wait in line for it, but we loved it. We are going back in 11 days and taking my Mother (first time to the world) and we consider this now one of our "must sees".

Dont' miss it!

DD loved Turtle Talk. We had to see it 2 times on our last trip. It was alot of fun.

I went to Turtle Talk as a solo adult with no kids, so I wasn't sure if a grownup such as myself would enjoy it, but it was GREAT!! It is very well done, and they have real talent behind the scenes running that show. When I was there, Crush found a certain "part" of a woman's bathing suit, and put it on .... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It was so funny!! I was sad when it was over! :teeth:

We don't even have kids and it's become a favorite! It's difficult to explain how innovative, funny and smart this short program is! There was a couple with three boys standing behind us in a very long line during the holidays and asked if we thought it was worth waiting for...we, of course, answered "yes" and it turned out that Crush asked questions of all three kids! Obviously, that family really enjoyed it. We're going back in a couple of weeks and bringing some first-timers with us and it's very high on our list of must sees.

Love Crush  He had everyone laughing from 60 year old Grandpa down to 2 year old DD. Two Ds were saying Dude all day... Thanks Crush :rotfl:
