Turtle Talk wasn't running when we were at Epcot last. Has anyone seen it? Is there usually a wait time or a full theater? And does anyone know how exactly it works? I have a friend who was a CM at DL in the 70's and he says he can't figure it out . . . I'm guessing from the sound of it since I haven't seen it that it's a waldo puppet or such.
Its a BIG hit with kids and adults.
It is interactive "improv" with a real-time on-screen "digital puppet" ("Waldo" or otherwise) as the star.
The effect is perfectly performed.
Crush can actually SEE and HEAR the live audience, and he makes full use of that.
The actor perfoming Crush (there are several, due to scheduling, of course) is very funny and quick with his appropo joke responses to guests, young and old.
We have seen this show at least 10 different times and each show was markedly different due the the audience-members with whom Crush speaks.
It can get VERY backed-up waiting for this small theater show (15-20 minutes, or so) that seats maybe 100-125 guests (if you count the little kids who are encouraged to sit cross-legged on the floor in front of Crush's "tank").
I hope that when The Living Seas rehab is fully completed (its only utilizing about 1/2 its potential guest area now) that there would be a way (and there WOULD be) to create more than one Crush "encounter" at a time without spoiling the "magic".
At least a FP queue MIGHT help matters.
