How is transportation from Fort Wilderness?

A friend of mine is going to try to stay at the FW cabins in late May. How is the transportation from there? Do you take a bus to all the parks? Any recommendations for a particular area to stay in to be near the bus?

Fort Wilderness is kind of unique...

It's quite a large complex, and internal busses run through every 10 minutes on a fixed schedule.

FW has direct busses to Downtown Disney, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Epcot from the Outpost Depot. There's also a direct bus to the Studios at the Settlement Depot. To get to the MK, you can take the boat, or head over to the TTC and take the Monorail.

Just ask when reserving (or request later) to be near the bus stops. That will be the best help--or rent a golf cart (my favorite solution!)
