How is Tony's Town Square for a TS at MK? Their menu looks good to us - something for everyone in our group.

Is it worth the TS each?

Thanks to all who reply!

I've heard on many podcasts that it's the one restaurant that you should always avoid. And we have until this trip. DH wants to try it. So we'll be going for lunch. We figure if it's really bad, we can just look forward to dinner. :rotfl:

The food there is okay. It is not always my top pick, but we always end up dining there, even if it is just for appetizers. I am a bit picky about the italian food that I choose to eat, as I am from NJ and Italian. But many enjoy Tony's. I definitely would not tell you to rule it out. Everyone has to try it for themselves ;) Happy dining!!!

I ate there last week. I thought it was pretty good. It's certainly not gourmet Italian, but I thought it was comparable to an Olive Garden or Romano's Macaroni Grill. I had shrimp scampi, which was nice and light--had a lemon and garlic splash rather than a heavy cream sauce. The asparagus was fresh too. Cost was $50 for two adults including soft drinks, tax, and tip--one of the less expensive dinners we had.

We ate there twice in 2008 and enjoyed both visits. Try it, I think you will like it. :thumbsup2

Try it! It's our family tradition on every WDW trip to eat at Tony's on our first day. I don't know if that's a good recommendation or not - we also buy our hats at the hat store right outside of Tony's that day, too!

We've never been disappointed with the food or the service. :)

It is definitely not gourmet italian, but we liked it. We went for lunch and I had a chicken & caramelized onion panini, which was awesome! The chocolate bombs for dessert were really good too. We really enjoyed it!

We loved it so much on our Decemebr trip we changed our plans to eat there twice.

Our Daughters still say it was the best meal they had. I loved the spicy seafood pasta dish.

We were there two years ago and we loved it. We had a cake delivered for my niece's birthday--it was great.

Be sure to take a walk around the non-restaurant area of Tony's. They had some old Disney memorabilia. In the very back they have some cardboard type displays (not really sure how to describe them), but you can take pictures of your kids with the displays. The only one I can remember is Steamboat Willie--this is one of my favorite pictures. A good friend of mine, that has been to Disney many times, had never seen these displays. She said on her next visit she was going to look for them. Good Luck!

We went for lunch in Oct and really enjoyed it...going to try dinner there next month and no way are we going to cancel it this time (had to cancel in Jan for Fultons)

We've had decent meals there but we always go for lunch. No way can you mistake it for authentic italian. It's like olive gardens imo. It's a family tradition with us also. 1st lunch of our trip.

We enjoyed our food at Tony's. I was expecting really bad food from all of the reviews I had read. I was pleasantly surprised. And the service was very good.

We've been there twice, 10 years apart, and had the same opinion both times. I think the food is average (at best) and would advise you (to me) that this is not a restaurant to experiment with food. If you go, get something simple, pasta & sausage, pasta & meatballs, etc. In addition, if you want an appetizer, order it and ask them to come back for your main order. Then, wait at least 5 minutes before ordering. If you order everything at the same time, I guarantee you the main course will arrive within minutes of the appetizer.

We just ate there last Friday. We had planned on eating breakfast at CP that morning, but because of it being so cold, we decided to cancel and use our TS for dinner instead. We had planned on being at the MK so we just called to see what was available for dinner. Our 1st choice was CP, but it wasn't available. She said she had an opening at Tony's so we took it. We had never been there so we were excited to try a new place. We were not disappointed! My DH said that we need to go there every trip now! The portions were big and our server, Casey, was awesome! Since we had never eaten there, Casey made some suggestions and we were happy that he did! I had the Chicken Parmigiana and my DH had the Spaghetti w/ Italian Sausage. For dessert, I had the Pistacio Creme Brulee (YUMMY!) and my DH had a Mocha Cappacino Cheesecake. We thought the food was delicious.

My suggestion would be to try and see what you think of it.

surprisingly good:We were nervous after reading some poor reviews. The kids loved it:all the adults got steak-cooked perfectly to order. There were several character sitings right outside, before and after our dinner. we were lucky enough to come out just as the spectromagic parade started, and thought how great it would have been to eat on the porch and enjoy the parade at same time.:cheer2:

On our last visit to Tony's we were lucky to get a table on the porch and were able to watch Spectromagic from our table. It was the best view of the parade that we have ever had. :goodvibes I had a steak that was excellent and just the way I requested. My DW had an appetizer and salad that she also enjoyed. Our server was outstanding and did not rush us at all. :thumbsup2

Right after we ordered dessert, the parade began. The only downside - no wine with dinner. :(

We love it. I don't know, there's something really sweet about the place and we've always had pretty good luck with the food. But I think I've finally figured out the big contrasts in how/why people have such differing opinions on it. If you enjoy places like Olive Garden then you'll like it. If you're used to exotic Italian food, then you may not. I'm Italian and we go there every time.
