I ate at Tony's last week for dinner and the food was decent but nothing special. What really surprised me was how fast it came out! I'm guessing it is not made to order because not even 30 seconds went by between us placing our order and our waiter bringing our food. This could be a positive for some but I felt rushed. The desserts were exceptional though!
We ate there on DBFs actual birthday as it was on his list of places to try - waited almost 45 minutes for our reservation, bland and mediocre food, obviously bored server, and not a great atmosphere where we were sat (in a corner practically behind a tree/plant!). Not even a "happy birthday" for DBF despite the birthday button and fab tee-shirt I had made him, UNTIL the server gave us the bill - "Here's your check....oh and happy birthday"
The food is average. Not our favorite place to dine, but it is a good location for us and the kids enjoyed it. I would say go, just don't keep your expectations high.
Not a favorite at all. The location is great but the food is less than Olive Garden quality. I had the baked ziti and it was like macaroni and chesse with sauce instead of cheese. Service was so so.
We scored a table outside and saw Spectromagic which was great. The best thing about the place is the location. Would I go back again? Because of where it is, yea. If it was a restaurant in my neighborhood. No.
Try it! It's our family tradition on every WDW trip to eat at Tony's on our first day. I don't know if that's a good recommendation or not - we also buy our hats at the hat store right outside of Tony's that day, too!
We've never been disappointed with the food or the service.
Am I the only person who misses breakfast at Tony's? I have fond memories of those cinnamon rolls...
I really hate Tony's lunch and dinner menus and would rate it as the worst place on WDW property. I have eaten there twice in recent years and both times the food was nearly tasteless and the service awful.
The last time I was there with DH, DMIL and DFIL. Two of us had steak and two of us had pasta. The steaks were just ok, and the potato side dish was bland, overcooked and served too cold. The chicken parmigiana was not as good as the basic one I make at home and was served with overcooked pasta with practically no sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs were also unremarkable.
Olive Garden is definitely much better than Tony's (and I really do not care much for Olive Garden). Personally, I would prefer a homemade dinner of spaghetti and sauce from a jar to eating at Tony's again.
