Everytime I have gone to Earl of Sandwich I have always ordred the All American but without the Cranberries. The next time when I am back there this December I want to try The Original 1762, so for those who have ordered it how does it taste and compare to the All American?

Those are the two I order most often! Love them both. The All-American is a fairly '"sweet" tasting sandwich, all considered. The Original is quite the opposite having quite a "bite" from the horseradish sauce. My BIL found it to be overwhelming (in the EXTREME) so now he orders in without the sauce. I always ask for a side of extra sauce!! Be aware of your own taste and know ahead of time if you are better off asking them to go easy on the sauce or even to have it on the side.

Edited to say, I misread yours to say with the cranberries...not without. Your All-American would not have the sweet taste, after all.

I don't know if you can compare the turkey sandwich to the roast beef sandwich. I think the Original 1762 Sandwich is the best sandwich at EOS. Roast beef and horseradish is a classic combination, as well as beef and cheddar is. It's a savory, balanced taste and marvelous on the warm bread, IMO. Maybe I'm biased because I was raised in Western New York, where a regional favorite has always been Roast Beef on Kimmelweck roll. If you ever pass thru Buffalo, you should try it at Charlie the Butcher, near the Airport.

The turkey sandwich has ranch dressing and it comes off sweet. Personally, I don't care for ranch dressing. It overwhelms whatever it's put on. I know people who put it on everything, including pizza not long ago. What these people like is the ranch flavor, not whatever is underneath, which it covers up.

Ultimately you have to decide if you like the taste of the original sandwich elements, or the sauce that's covering them. That will decide if you like the Original 1762 Sandwich, where the basic elements stand out more. If you have some doubts, you could ask for the horseradish sauce on the side, then add what you feel comfortable with.

Give it a try. I'd be interested in how you liked (or hated) it. :)

I've gotten it without the horseradish (not a fan) and really liked it.

I'm wondering how the potato salad compares to the diet coke myself

The potato salad is not very thirst quenching. The diet coke is very thin in consistency. I think you should avoid both at all costs! ;)

Haven't gotten the All American, but have had the Original and even as someone who isn't really a roast beef fan (DH wanted to split it ) I thought it was delicious. Is it the best sandwich I've had there? Nope. That title goes to the Caribbean Jerk Chicken, but if you are looking to try something new, the Original was definitely worth trying.

I have had the Holiday,( oh yummo) and the Original. While I LOVE roast beef w/ horseradish sauce, I must have had an off day, my meat was kinda chewy and tastless, I just didnt enjoy it, so I haven't ordered it again.
