How is rider swap working with FP+?

My child doesn't like TOT or the HM. He is tall enough to ride but doesn't like the theming. We have used the rider pass there before without a problem but I was prepared to just walk away if they said no as well. Oh, and at RNR we did this but now he likes to ride too. :)

We used rider swap with FP+ at Space Mountain yesterday. I rode first with my FP+ and the CM gave my DH a rider swap card to use at a later time. The CM did tell him that the card was good for him and up to 2 additional people. I'm not sure if this is a change in policy, but it was definitely 2 and not 3 people yesterday.

I booked FP+ for my DH and son at the speedway during the same time slot, so it really worked out well. They did that while I rode Space Mountain.

"2 additional people" == "3 people". That's what it's always been.

So you had no problems getting a fastpass for your husband for space mountain since he wasn't in the fastpass line with you?

I did read your post, but it says the only guaranteed way to get a swap is if your child is under the height requirement. The people on FB were saying that FOR SURE it was for height or a scared child. I think you are saying no (could be possible), but these others are saying yes in every case. Just curious as to if Disers have been given the swap for scared children.

She is only 6. No waiting alone:goodvibes

Actually I've been recently offered child swap at TOT when my tall enough child who went through the line didn't want to ride. And after that time I asked if we could still do a swap at the exit and I was told yes. I don't ride TOT so we didn't take them up on it but at least there, too scared, seems to be a valid solution. I'd bet RNRC is the same as many kids back out once they see the cars take off.

There isn't a problem. It is not a FP, it is a rider switch pass (aka baby swap aka child swap). This is how it is done. Those who report differently are dealing with rouge CMs.

I know what the difference is!!! I was questioning if both parents had to make a fastpass selection at the same time in order to get a rider's pass??!!! I wanted to select soarin as my fastpass and get a rider's swith pass for husband..

then he could make a fastpass selection for test track and I get a rider's switch pass..

do you understand what I'm asking? I've had so many different answers to this it's not even funny. It's stressful trying to decide our fastpass selections. I don't want to go there and a CM give us a hard time with us trying to get a rider's switch pass when that parent doesn't have that attraction as a fastpass selection

Actually I do understand and it has been answered so many times it isn't even funny. I even did the research for this question back in the fall before the full roll out (and obviously wasted my time posting the answer on these boards since no one bothers to read anything) and the answer from EVERY SINGLE CM WAS THE SAME, the person getting the rider swap ticket DOES NOT NEED A FP/FP+.

Period.

Yet, the anxiety stems from the occasional report from guests that the rogue CMs as you call them (and I believe they are essentially that too) DO require a FP to trade in for the RS pass...

So basically it comes down to: No, you shouldn't have a problem. But there is a non-zero chance you might (as I've said several times before as well)

obviously I wasn't talking about your answers.. I was talking about the CM answers.. I've called so many times and each time got a different answer!!! you were lucky enough to get the same answers from your cm's that you called but I wasn't so lucky!!! and I also got answers from different people experiencing different things!!

I live right by the parks. I spoke to the ride CMs at the attractions. Not some phone flunky who is completely clueless and spouting some company line they've been ordered to say.

I've continued to recheck on occasion and have never gotten a different answer. Not even once.

you don't even know how happy this answers makes me!! Are you serious?! so you're saying it's ok for me to go ahead and change my fastpass selections up this way?!! what should I do if I encounter a problem with one of the cm's?

I would set them up like that and current reports of those actively using rider swap this way have all been positive.

If you get a rouge CM you can take several approaches ranging from nice to not. I'd start with friendly and go from there as needed. ;) but the reality is it is a simple take your child up to the FP lane CM and ask for a ride swap ticket. Or ask the standby CM if the FP lane looks crowded and backed up. (Sometimes they carry them) They should just hand you one after verifying the child is too short.

If you encounter a problem I would just leave and return later when a different CM is standing at the gate. Least amount of conflict.

No problems. The CM was very nice and helpful, explaining how the pass works to my husband while I went ahead and scanned into the fp line.

Anyone go with more than one toddler? We have 7 adults and 2 toddlers. If we split the FP+ between Soarin' and TT, it would need to be 4 & 3, which would leave 4 people needing a rider swap for one of the rides. That won't work out with the 3 person limit/rider swap card.

I think at that point you are stretching Rider Switch beyond the problem it was meant to solve.

A solution specifically at TT would be to have one adult who doesn't mind riding separate use the single rider line instead of the FP line.

So in theory 2 adult could bring ds get a pass and one ride and another 2 adults bring dd and one ride. Then 3 adults could get another 2 turns?
