How is resort switching handled?

We are booked for VWL in November and are thinking of spending the last two nights at BCV. How does Disney handle luggage transfers to the other resort, and do they move any food? Do we need to have the food all packed up or do they do that for you?

good question--in June we are moving from WLV to BWV--how do they handle cold food in particular--thanks for your help--We are all new to DVC and this trip will definitely be a NEW adventure but I would like it to be as stress-free as possible. We will have a car if that changes any of ya'lls recommendations!

We moved from the BWV to the BCV in December with food needing to be kept cold. It couldn't have been easier. The bellman came up and got everything and then they delivered it later in the day to our room at the BCV. I was concerned about the food needing to be refrigerated but it was as cold on delivery as it had been when it was taken out of the fridge at the BW.

You do need to have everything packed up when the Bell person comes. After you check into your new resort, call down to Bell services and they will bring up your luggage (usually late afternoon).

So you arrange everything through bell services or the front desk? both? We are wanting to try this also to conserve weekend points!
