How is POFQ?

We are looking into a land sea package for beginning of 2007 and we are thinking of giving POFQ a try.

I have read many reviews of POR, but how is POFQ? Really.

My DD thinks the pool looks awesome and I like the fact that it is not a big resort.

What do you all think?

We have stayed there twice. we loved it so much we chose it as our honeymoon resort!! The resort is compact and IMHO appeals to both couples looking for a romantic/quiet resort as well as families. The pool is very nice, with a great water slide your DD will surely love. We found the busses to the parks to be very timely and the boat ride to DTD is not to be missed. the food court has a variety of food to choose from (we love the beignets, great as a snack or breakfast :thumbsup2 ). we have pictures of the resort on the picture link in our signature, if you care to check them out. There is an album totally devoted to the resort. Hope you have a great trip and if there are any specific questions we'd be glad to try and answer them for you

I also stayed there for my honeymoon - and loved the resort so much that I will be going back next January for the Disney Marathon. I can't wait to stay there again. I loved the fact that it was a smaller resort and they have a jogging path.

While there we also received a bunch of towel animals.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

POFQ is wonderful! The pool area is great and the size of the resort is so nice. Your kids will love that slide. No matter what building you end up in, its a convenient location. Another great aspect of this resort is the buses. You share buses with Riverside but French Quarter is picked up and dropped off first. Many times during our visit the buses were standing room only by the time they reached Riverside so I was glad we had gotten on first. That was during the week between Christmas and New Years however, so normally it wouldn't be that crowded. I also love having the boat to DTD, its a nice peaceful ride and the boat captains always seem to know a lot of interesting tidbits and make the ride a lot fun. Our room at POFQ was very nice, just right for the four of us. The food court was pretty much like the other resort food courts we have tried but never seemed as crowded. The food is pretty good and we find the food courts to be a good value compared to what you get and pay for food in the parks. There is also a full service restaurant nearby at Riverside called Boatwrights. It would be a maybe 10 minute walk to go there. I think you will love this resort, I know my family did!

dancemomnj, it was only about 15 minutes to MK. The longest bus ride was AK and that was only 20-25 min.

Guess I have a different opinion.

I think the answer to your question depends on what you are looking for.

I stayed there with my husband (left the kids home) and found it to be incredibly boring. No nightlife, etc. On the other hand, I think it would be a good place for kids. If we were to stay there with the kids, we would get 2 rooms because they are pretty small. (Although larger than the all-stars)

I don't like the fact that you can't keep your shades open because of the walkways. The rooms seem a little like the inside of nicely decorated boxes.

If you are able to get a good rate, then go for it. We paid $100 for a king, and it was fine.

We loved the swan (much more than the Beach Club even) - seemed a little more grown up to us, and the pool is great. (and we only paid $99 for the Swan)

We are going to stay at POFQ in March with DD2! Will give a trip report when we are back.

DW also considered Swan/Dolphin, but she wanted to purchase dining plan (not offered with Swan), so we decided on POFQ.

POFQ is a wonderful resort!! The grounds are beautiful and the ambiance is incredible. My favorite part was waking up early before my family and taking a stroll by myself. It is a very peaceful resort. My kids loved the pool, it is so much fun. We also enjoyed the boat ride down the river to DTD. I would love to stay there again some time. :thumbsup2

Has anyone ever stayed at the French Quarter (or any other mod resort) with 3 adults in the room? I was considering booking the French Quarter for my mother, brother and I, but not sure if it would be too cramped. :confused3

Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

I was looking at allears.net I didn't see an arcade or playground. Do they have one or do you go to POR if you want them? I know the kids will be so busy with other things...
Thanks!

This is our favorite moderate resort and we literally just booked it again for our December trip. You can't go wrong with this resort. If you search for posts by me I am constantly talking it up.

The playground is great as well as the arcade and pool. Your kids will love it! The boat ride to Downtown Disney is also a plus and I know children adore it.

Please feel free to contact me via PM if you have any other specific questions.

We love POFQ. Beignets and boat ride to DTD. When staying at a moderate we choose POFQ, we have considered others (CSR) but the size keeps us away from them. We were there in December and will be there again in June and I can't wait. We thought We'd have a problem after staying at AKL but we didn't.

:sunny: :sunny: I booked POFQ last night for a week in November! Thank you all for the great information!

Just wondering do they have a kiddy pool?

Thanks again! :cheer2:

We've stayed at a Value with 3 adults & 1 child, no problem. It all depends on how you travel, how organized you are and of course, how well everyone gets along. To us a room at WDW is a place to sleep & change clothes, we're there for whats outside of the room.

We like POFQ for its compact size. Last time we stayed there we were only one minute from the pool and the food court.

Can't do that at many other resorts without paying a premium for a preferred location.
