I have been away for a little while after our last trip and I forgot about the New space mtn, how is it?

We didn't really find it all that different. The queue is different with interactive video games, but we did Fastpass, so we didn't play those. The lighted strips on the side of the cars are gone, so you don't see all the other cars zooming around. That makes it darker, so you feel like you're going faster. Other than that, we didn't notice any major changes.

I don't know...felt like it was going slower to me. Other than that, I didn't notice a difference. At least my back didn't hurt when I got off this time around.

Oh, I thought it was better! Beside the queue update I though they had updated several 'old school' aspects. The asteroids flying on the ceiling looked better/more modern. The tunnel launch got a good update. I really liked it, but I always like it! :wizard:

It was a little bit better compared to what it used to be, but when you compare if to the Disneyland version, it's lame.

I think I'm the only one that doesn't get this ride. I don't really enjoy it. It is such a rough ride, even with the rehab. The more modern coasters blow it out of the water.

We were at the MK on the Sunday it re-opened = Space Mountain went down during EEMH. So, we didn't get to ride. :headache:
We were at WDW for DAP and visited the MK one day = Space Mountain was down. So, we didn't get to ride. :headache:

Maybe, third times the charm. :wizard::wizard::wizard:

We'll be at WDW at the end of January/beginning of February. I will report back my opinion. :thumbsup2

They took away rather than added anything to the ride. Gone are the projected images on the ceiling that made it feel you were hurtling through space and the reflective strips that made the coasters look like they were barreling through the cosmos. Also gone are much of the scenarios on the side of the conveyor walkway and all the neat cameras at the end that my kids loved watching themselves in. Disney always seems to delete magic rather than add when they make 'improvements'! The re-furb’ also negatively impacted the people mover as there are now long periods of darkness where you could once get an exciting glimpse of the space mountain ‘rockets’ racing through the galaxy! :rolleyes1

What is going on with WdW it seems to be steadily going down hill or am I just getting older and more synical

Didn't even notice a difference, maybe a little darker.
