How is Hometown buffet ?

I know there is a Hometown buffet all u can eat on West Katella Av, how much is it ? someone has already eaten here ?

Not sure of exact price, but around $9 for everything, including drinks. Kids are something like 65 cents per year up to 10, under 2 is free. I haven't eaten at that one, but have at others. I like the food. It's homestyle food, lots of salads, veggies, different types of potatoes, rice and at least 4-5 kinds of meat and chicken. Yummy desserts. My favorite is the bread pudding and the hot fudge cake.

It's hell. Pure, unadulterated hell. Not that one specifically, but the chain in general. I have to go there w/my inlaws all the time and....

Not that I have strong feelings about it or anything LOL.

I've only been to one in San diego, and was not impressed. I am not a big one for buffet type restaurants to begin with, so my view is a colored by that fact. It is very like all all you can eat buffets, but seemed even more "gloppy" than others. All the food seemed over sauced/cooked/heat lamped/glopped. I like food more separate than that, a carrot, not a carroty/raisin/mayo melange. Not good. The chicken dish tasted like the other chicken dish which tasted like the green bean dish. Not my kind of place!!
That said, if you have a family with big appetites, it is cheap..there is a lot of food and each person can pick what they want to eat. To each their own!!

We like Hometown Buffet quite a bit, but we find the location on Katella a bit noisy (poor acoustics?) so we usually visit the location on Chapman west of Brookhurst, which makes it a mile or two further from DLR. They're also open for breakfast on weekends. The dinner price is $10.something now and seems to be steadily rising, but there's a reason for it - (most) people like the value.
