How is ET?

Very calm. Similar to the movie. Pre ride is walking through what looks like a forest and then you get on the ride which is a series of bicycles. Then you travel through California and bring ET home because his home land is in danger of dying. Very calm ride.

I loooove ET. It's great for the really little ones. As long as they can sit up and you can hold onto them, they can enjoy it.

me too.
i do this ride each visit.

We have several categories of rides.

Some rides we have done once or twice and don't usually do every vacation...like Terminator and Poseidan's Fury.

Some rides we do once a vacation like Disaster and Shrek.

Some rides we do once a day like ET and Spiderman.

And some rides we do several times a day like Mummy and Men in Black.

We love E.T. Especially the smell of the forest. Agree with the Peter Pan comparison. My husband thinks it needs to be replaced, but I would be soooo sad if that happened!

They have already replaced two of my favorite rides (Back to the Future and Jaws) I hope they don't replace this one.

I know! I really miss King Kong too, but my hubby and son love Thė Mummy so much I don't whine about it.

I never got to ride Kong or JAWs :( KONG closed a few years before my 1st trip and JAWS closed the week before my trip in Jan 2012 ( I was so upset)...I did feel for this family I was behind last week ...They were asking the TM where Kong and Jaws were...The Tm broke the news to them..Not happy people at all.

I was fortunate enough to visit in December of 2011 and rode Jaws one last time. I did ride Kong way back when. I thought it was a good ride but not one that I miss like Back to the Future or Jaws.

We also went in dec 2011 and rode the last day that jaws was in operation. And completely agree that we miss back to the future and jaws!

Not to be a downer but there are rumors that Universal is going to replace ET with a smurf themed ride. I am not a huge fan of the ET ride, although I will admit I was pleasantly surprised with it. I wouldn't be crushed if they removed it as long as it was replaced with something great, and I don't think a smurf ride would be great or even better then ET.

We did see Kong way back in 1995 or so - wasn't bad but wasn't blown away by it. In 2009 we tried to get onto Jaws late one December evening but just missed getting on, wanted to see it at night. Got to ride it the next day, and that was it. Great experience, RIP.
