Just got a pretty good rate from Enterprise ($248 for 12 days in Dec. in a Grand Am/Stratus-this includes taxes, fees etc.). At least I think this is good, it's better than the other companies I've checked and I didn't even use any codes or coupons for it. (Didn't have any or I would have tried.) Anyway, Mary at Mousesavers gives a bad review of Enterprise but I can't tell if that's the MCO location or just in California. Anyone have good or bad experiences with them at MCO? Also, how is the ride from the airport? Do they pick you up quickly? How is the counter service and do they hassle you about extra insurance etc.? Thanks so much!!

P.S. Any opinions about the rate (Dec 5-17).

I was going to rent from Enterpise at Savannah International airport. I decided not to when I noticed that if I exceeded a certain amount of miles I would start being charged for milage. I decided I didn't want to worry about how far I was driving on my vacation. Before this was taken into consideration thay had a slightly lower rate at the time than the other car rental companies. Just something you may want to check.

I personally will NEVER rent from Enterprise again.

My car was in the shop awhile ago. They were out of loaner vehicles, so they were getting me a courtesy car from Enterprise. After signing my 1st born child away, they took me out to the car. It was a beat up Ford Escort. Filthy on the inside and outside. Not to mention the seats were all stained. I made a comment about it, and was told that it was "normal."

There were many mechanical problems with this car. It shimmied on the highway, and then vibrated at idle. Horrible piece of junk.

While I had the car, I went to go use my credit card to buy something. DECLINED. What? I should be fine... called up my credit card company, and they tell me that it was declined because Enterprise put through a charge for $100.

Now, when I was signing my first born away, the guy asked for my credit card. He assured me they would not be charging anything to it, but they needed it for security purposes. Fine, okay. Well... they *DID* charge my card. (And not just a "hold"... an actual charge)

I was NOT a happy camper, and when I called Enterprise, the guy tried to smooth talk his way, saying that it was company policy, and that when they got the car back, they'd issue a credit to my card. (which of course would take 2-3 weeks). I found that to be unacceptable business practices.

What's the fun of a surprise counter, if I reveal the surprise? :teeth:

So that's what you were doing on the tech board.;)

Back to the topic. I read in our local paper a while back that you better have insurance that covers rental cars if you rent from Enterprise. Even if you get the complete insurance package from them, if you have an accident, there are still some major out of pocket expenses you must cover. If I remember right, they do not cover loss of use.

Well gang, thanks for the replies. I have to admit that I'm bummed that your experiences were so bad. The Enterprise rate is so much better than the others I've found that I was hoping to use them but I don't want to if it's going to be such a hassle. Guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope someone else has a good rate between now and then. Thanks for your help!

P.S. Tyler - looking forward to the big news.
