How is Biergarten?

Just looking for your opinions on lunch at the Biergarten. We are only going there because it's the most economical way to do the Candelight processional.

Speaking of the candlelight processional dining package... is the 5:00 p.m. show still cool even though it's still daylight outside? We could get a later package reservation, but it will cost $20 per person more and I'm not sure it's worth it.

Allears.net has a list of the menu items for the Biergarten (subject to change of course) and it'll give you an idea of what additional items are on dinner menu. For my family, we go at dinner because Sauerbraten (primarily) and Braised Beef Roulades. The other items are yummy, so we'd probably do okay at lunch as well (it's just that sauerbraten is a favorite).

Lunch at Biergarten is a tradition for us! Have been there for lunch pretty much every trip since '87.

I can't say about the CP time as we booked the latest time possible as we're late eaters and even the dinner time (5pm) is closer to lunch for us! :rotfl:

We just had Dinner at Biergarten. It was great!

I didn't see the saurbraten (my favorite). It was on the menu, but I didn't see if with the other meats on the buffet.

The background noise level (due to the throngs of people) is a little loud (even outside by the restaurant by the reservation desk) making it a bit difficult to hold a discussion with people, especially if they are hearing impared. Once the band starts up, forget it. You can't hear anything else, but at least the music is good.

I usually like to "eat in peace" without a lot of "activities" during meals. Fortunately at the Biergarten it's on-stage with minimal audiance participation. Fortunately the "shows" don't go too long and they have reasonable breaks between on-stage activities.

If you want to save the walk, the boat docks are right at Germany, but be aware, the boats don't run all night, so you may be stuck with a walk back.

Make a reservation if you can. We did and we still had a bit of a wait. I assume the waits pretty long without one. The hotel made ours. I assume guest relations on the online app would work too.

The food and drinks were great and, as always, everyone was very nice.
We were very happy with the experience.

Glad to hear some good reviews. I'm struggling with this same issue. And our daughter (13) is very picky. I don't mind paying for a meal if we eat it, but I don't want to pay that much and have her hungry when we leave.
