WDW veteran here. Planning joint trip for first-timers.

Normally we would do summer break, but the weather this summer seems brutal.

I’ve never visited over Xmas. I’ve only heard and seen video’s of the insane crowds…

SO HOW INSANE ARE THE CROWDS?

with RD/EE, how many G+ tickets can one do in a day? We would likely do MK, HS, and maybe AK.

kids are older, so we would skip a lot of the fantasyland rides. Would love to get SM, SD, paid ROTR, BTRR, etc done.

I would go for the ambiance, but our joint guests would want to have a fuller experience.

The weather on Dec would be >>> All Summer. Normally we would do Jan/Feb/Soeing Break, but school schedules don’t aign

Thanks!

I would recommend doing a search of the, 'Here Now and Just Back' thread and trying to find posts around your dates from the past couple of years. There are reports in that thread of guests sharing their actual experiences in the parks over the past few years. Here's a good spot in the thread for 2022 information.

We did a Christmas week trip a few years ago. I can’t emphasize enough how crowded it is. If someone wants to soak up the ambiance of the parks, that’s not the week to do it. We typically go the week before Christmas now and it’s better but the closer you get to Christmas Day, the more crowded it gets. If there is any other week you could go, pick that week

If you can, plan your trip between Thanksgiving and early December. Christmas time and the week between Christmas and New Year's is really nightmarish.

The more crowds expected, the earlier they’ll open the parks. If you’re staying onsite Early Entry can start as early as 7 or 7:30am. That’s the greatest advantage over the holidays. Guests just don’t like getting up so so early this time of year (one reason is the parks are also open late). Doing the first few park hours each day will get alot done and keep you ahead of the pack.

Great. Could probably shut down this post, as I’ve already decided not to do this week

Just to emphasize how busy this week this is, I was on property around this time last December and Figment and Nemo were both over 60+ minute waits. Spaceship Earth's standby wait was absolutely insane.
