How I Survived 11 Days at WDW with a Disney-Resistant Husband **2/20 THE END **

Hey Nichole - glad that you found it. You are right - they are having some great sales right now. For the most part, I find J.Crew runs pretty well to size. However, if they are short on stock, you may want to order 2 dresses in the 2 sizes you are debating between. That way you would get free shipping, and you could simply return the size you didn't want to keep in store. ;) Even if you paid for return shipping if you didn't have a store close by, you would still come out even paying for return shipping if you got free shipping on the initial order.:)

The code for free shipping on orders over $150 is WGM72A. Good until Aug.23.;)

I LOVE J.Crew. At least 80% of all clothing I have purchased for me, the kids and Chris the past 2 years has been from J.Crew.

Thanks so much for the code :goodvibes I might order a few things I saw on there for the kids as well.

What a GREAT ending to an otherwise not so great afternoon!!! Glad to hear everyone - Chris included - enjoyed Illuminations. I love the part where they "blow out" the torches. So cool, gives me goosebumps! :goodvibes

I'm glad your evening ended up better than it started out - Illuminations always makes me smile and leaves a tear in my eye! Loved your idea of going to DTD to enjoy girl time shopping and making use of free internet :thumbsup2

What can I say that hasn't already been said? What I enjoy is your ability to put us right into the day with you -- your downs & ups. :) It's like a soap where we are tuned in for the next scene!!

I, too, can't skip out on sleep when we're there -- the day usually has to have a break in it where we come back and recover, and then go back out again! It is too easy to stay up for a long night, and then I find myself DRAGGING out of bed (because I'm always the first one up), and then everyone resents me because I'm pushing to get out the door! (or my DH sometimes does, I admit -- I take a while to get ready)

It must have just compounded for you when you came back to the room & found your MIL wasn't in a good mood...bad mood + somebody else's bad mood = get outta there!! And you did!! Glad it ended on such a good note. :goodvibes

Sigh, I alo spent many evenings in the BC lobby and solarium with my laptop. It was so convenient and I was beyond happy to be at the BC. You really cannot beat that walk back to the hotel after a long day at the parks or beating the crowds out of Epcot.

A great ending. I'm also a night owl bed at 2 up at 6:30. Hope ext trip you get to B&C best ice cream and the food isn't bad either. At least it was't last time I ate there.Popping corn and waiting for the next bit.

How nice that they gave you a voucher for your unused bike rental minutes, I'm actually quite surprised that they did that! Of course, that stinks that you didn't get to enjoy it :sad2:

You did manage to turn it into a wonderful evening though with Illuminations and shopping!

Rough day....great ending! Illuminations is also my favourite night time event at WDW. I'm glad that you managed to find some time to get some shopping in for yourself at the end of the day. Nothing like a bit of retail therapy and laptop time to feed the soul :thumbsup2.

So glad your night finished on a high note....you certainly deserved it! There is nothing better to change the mood than shopping and Ghiradelli Chocolate!

I too am a night owl. My kids started back to school this week and the early mornings are killing me. I have to be up and going full speed at 6am...I hate it.
In a perfect world it would be bed at 2 am and waking up at 9 or 10 am. I guess I should have been a rock star.;)

Hummmmm.......IllumiNations!, late night shopping, and ice cream? Sounds like a perfect evening! :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh...the Cloudberry Horn....Yum! I just tried one for the first time this past trip!!! :goodvibes

I am sooo enjoying your Trip Report!!! I love your candor about the highs and lows of family travel. My family and I have been to WDW over 50 times and we keep returning because it is such a world of escapism and we've created so many wonderful memories, but there were times when it was too much togetherness while on vacation.:lmao: I'm happy that your DH enjoyed the BC so much as that might be a great draw to get him to stay at a deluxe resort again! Can't wait for more.:)

Illuminations, shopping, ice cream and free internet sounds like a great end your day:goodvibes

Absolutely! Some of my favorite things!:)

Thanks so much for the code :goodvibes I might order a few things I saw on there for the kids as well.

So.....didya order anything???

Isn't that torch blow-out the best? Love it!!!
You are right - the evening was exactly the relaxation and enjoyment I needed after our stressful afternoon!;)

Can't go wrong with shopping. Followed immediately by ice cream sundaes! A foolproof plan!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? What I enjoy is your ability to put us right into the day with you -- your downs & ups. :) It's like a soap where we are tuned in for the next scene!!

Actually....don't want to misled you there. My MIL was not in a bad mood. She did complain about the burger when I asked her how she liked her dinner, but only when asked. In the 19 years I have known my MIL, I can't say that I have EVER seen her in a bad mood. She is a difficult person to have any complaints about.:)

A midnight shopping trip, how fun. I assume it wasn't very crowded at that time.

You would think that wouldn't you? It was packed!!! I find the period from 9-11pm the busiest time to be in DTD. Everyone seems to have the same idea - as soon as the parks close, let's hit DTD!:rotfl:

Sigh, I alo spent many evenings in the BC lobby and solarium with my laptop. It was so convenient and I was beyond happy to be at the BC. You really cannot beat that walk back to the hotel after a long day at the parks or beating the crowds out of Epcot.

I LOVED the Solarium!!! I assumed I would not have been able to get the free internet there, so I always just headed straight for the lobby. Were you able to connect to the free wifi in the solarium? If so, I may have a new place to hang out!:rotfl:

A great ending. I'm also a night owl bed at 2 up at 6:30. Hope ext trip you get to B&C best ice cream and the food isn't bad either. At least it was't last time I ate there.Popping corn and waiting for the next bit.

Sounds like we both live large at Disney, and catch up on sleep when we get back home!;) And I will definitely be checking out B&C next trip to see about their food for myself!:goodvibes

Hey Michelle!:goodvibes

I am not sure if the voucher for the missed time is actually a policy, or just someone being nice to me. I got the impression I was asking a novel question, as most people renting these things likely aren't in the middle of a photo shoot, and if they were, they likely aren't as cheap as me to ask if they can return to use the time they didn't use.:rotfl:

So I wouldn't necessarily count on this being an option in future, but they certainly accomodated us that nite!:goodvibes

You are absolutely right there! It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening!:goodvibes

Love the comment about the rock star!:rotfl: Too funny!

I certainly burn it on both ends in Disney....so much to do, so little time...

Late night shopping sounds great!

It was!:)

Hummmmm.......IllumiNations!, late night shopping, and ice cream? Sounds like a perfect evening! :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh...the Cloudberry Horn....Yum! I just tried one for the first time this past trip!!! :goodvibes

You did??!!! Yay!!!! Isn't it the BEST ever?!!!

But shhhhh....it's our little secret. I love that so many people promote School Bread...which I find is a Supersized version of Tim Horton's Coconut Cream donut. (For all you non-Canadians, this is a popular donut chain with a cult following, that has just started breaking into the northern US states in the last few years).

I've been there at the end of the evening, just before Illuminations to pick up my Cloudberry Horn when the School Bread is all sold out. But the horns are always there!;)

Thank you!:goodvibes

It took living through this trip for me to finalize realize that not everyone can or will enjoy the Parks the way us Dissers do. And that is fine. Chris enjoys the Beach Club a great deal. While I would go stir crazy being within spitting distance of a park and not visiting, Chris would be perfectly content on a future trip sticking around the resort, perhaps just venturing off the BC resort property to do our signature dining in the evenings.

At the end of the day, I have to be grateful for that. It could be a whole lot worse - he may not have liked anything about staying on property, or complained about prices, ect. Instead, he thought it was the best place we had ever stayed at and loved signature dining. :goodvibes

Hey Tim Hortons has reached here in Ireland-though only in a wee, tiny way-a couple of petrol stations sell their coffee and doughnuts for take-out! I've never tasted them though-are they good?

I have been reading the past week and am finally all caught up.

I have to say, you are a more patient saint than I could ever be.

I think I would have bought a tazer by now and every time your hubster gave you any grief...he would get a jolt towards my way of thinking!!! ;):lmao:

BTW - your family photos caused me to make a phone call for my wedding next year and we will now have the pleasure of having them at our special day so I owe you a ton!!!! :lovestruc

Oh my gosh, I LOVE Tim's too! :woohoo: We always used to go to one whenever we went across the border (the Windsor border is not far from where we live), but we're fortunate to have several around us now! :yay: I never thought about the School Bread being similar to TH's Coconut Cream donut...you're right!

Still following along & enjoying myself. My oldest son was a part the team that got Tim Horton's started in this part of Ohio. He had to stay in Oakville for 4 months of training. He was responsible for getting stores constructed & set up.
