How hot was it? I'll tell you.

When I was 38, my aunt suggested I see this show in Disneyland. I declined thinking it would be lame. When I was 42 we went (4, 2 and 2 year olds plus DH and myself) to this show at WDW. The kids absolutely loved the show as did DH and I and I kicked myself for not having gone when my aunt suggested it.

I think I would have thought this was lame if I went between the years of 13 and 24 with or without my own children. I think I would have thought this was lame if I went between the ages of 20 and 24 (even with my own children) if I wasn't an adoring parent. For adults that have no children I think this is a hit and miss attraction...you could be totally tickled or totally turned off, accent on the totally turned off, especially if you are not into children and/or funny bears (resembling types of people/entertainers we all know) singing funny and entertaining songs.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE TO BE YOUNGER THAN 12...or A PARENT OLDER THAN 24 WITH CHILDREN to properly appreciate this attraction.

Sheesh. Now let's hear from all those of you who don't fit this demographic!

I'm 22 without children and I LOVE it! :goodvibes The first time I saw it though, I was 3 and loved it then too :teeth:

:flower: I have seen it both in California and Florida and I like both shows because they were totally different. The one in California was more California songs like california girls but instead of girls they said bears. I like the one in Florida the best. I like both the one in the summer and the one at christmas.
I have seen them on many occasions and it is still fresh to me.

I like the TIKI birds as well. I mostly like the TIKI God and her giving it to ZAZU.

I guess the next thing will be COP?

I think it's pretty lame, but instead of using it to get out of the heat, we used it last summer to get out of an evening thunderstorm! :) By the time, the storm was over, we made our way to the castle to get a great spot for Wishes, since the crowds (that weren't at the Country Bears ;) ) cleared out. I wouldn't make a special point of going to see it, but it served our purpose! :sunny:

I really do like it. Its absurd and cheesy, but oh-so-much fun, especially when people in the theater start clapping and singing along. "Blooooooooooooood on the saddle"

Ok, I do NOT love the Country Bear Jamboree, but will be in the WORLD during Christmas season this year and am wondering should I give the Christmas Country Bear Jamboree a chance?

Is it much different?

Maggie

The first time I heard of the Country Bears Jamboree I was a child watching "The Magical World of Disney" and Walt was telling us about these wonderful new animatronic shows. I was sitting with my grandma at her home in PA. We always watched Disney on Sunday nites on her small black and white TV. Usually she in her recliner and I on the stool next to her. I was enthralled and wanted to go so badly- but I knew we could never afford it and California was so far away. When I was 16 I got my wish. I made my first visit to Disneyland and saw the actual show. I wished my grandmother was still alive to tell her about it. Now, as a grandmother I took my three year old grandson for his first visit and he fell in love with the talking bears. Sooo.....for me it means a lot.

Not to be picky but I think the song Liverlips is singing is "Blood on the sand"

?????

Anyone know for sure?

BTW ~ I love it and so do my kids (DS8 & DD6)

The song is Blood on the Saddle...an old cowboy classic by Tex Ritter. "Blood on the ground (or sand)" is part of the lyrics though.

I love the bears. My DH and I never miss it. Of course I like the Tiki Room too. :)

I can't believe anybody would not like the Bears. i just got back from DW and have not been there in over 23 years and it was great charge to see them with my 9 year old. I hope they never get rid of them it is a great tradition just like Small World and Pirates.
