Well a year from this week is when we hope to be at HHI (we have to book at the 7 month window, so it may not work out for us).

But I was wondering if anyone is there...or if anyone lives in the area and can tell me what it is like this week.

Is the water warm enough to go in? Is this a rainy time of year? Anything special going on that is an annual event?

I'm really looking forward to this. We have been to WDW so many time, and on the DCL several times, so this will be a new 'Disney' vacation for us :)

The ocean temp at HH right now is 73 and many are in enjoying the water. Of course the pools are heated, so those are also getting a lot of use. Air temps the past few weeks have been in the upper 70's tp low 90's with overnight lows ranging from the 60's to the low 70's (although we were in the 40's a couple of nights) .

We have had almost no rain the past 3 weeks but did have nice (and needed) showers on Wednesday evening.

Here is a link to activites this month on the island - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2918918

May is a great time to be at HH - but I have not found a time that isn't great to be at HH. ;)

Thanks so much! That sound good. I sure hope we are able to get a reservation when that 7 month window opens. I'm really looking forward to it!

Mid-May should not be too difficult to get a reservation at 7 months - although Studios, 1BRs and GVs might still be a challenge.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for this info. We're looking at HHI for next year in combination with a trip to maybe Myrtle using a different timeshare.

Don't want to go when it's too cold to swim.

There is a tropical whatever coming up from Florida right now. Forecast just changed from sunny this weekend to Thunderstorms. Standard fair for the Low Country this time of year.

It's never too cold for the pools/spas. (Ok...I would stay out in the rare Ice Storm)

We just left this morning.

The prediction for the next 10 days (as of this morning) is for highs in the low/mid 80s and lows in the low/mid 70s with no significant rain called for.

Enjoy!
