How FP/magicbands worked last week

Just back from a week at the World. We had no issue with MB for room entry at BWV. We had a couple times where we had to try again on park entry, the first time being our first day when we forgot the finger we used for the APs last year! They worked about 95% of the time after that on the first try, and always on the 2nd. MB and the meal plan was also fine, but if you have multiple tables and multiple rooms make sure each room scans a band so the meals come off evenly instead of all one room. (We had an issue with this and had to get the concierge to help fix the credits at the end of our week.) We did not have trouble with FP being lost altogether (thankfully). We did have a few blue Mickeys, but they were either resolved on the spot or we were told which ride we were supposed to be at. We had a party of 18 and the app showed everyone's FP so there was some confusion. My mom eventually had a printout of everyone individually that a sympathetic concierge gave her. MK had the best availability for a 4th FP. Epcot had the worst- we could never get TT or Soarin after noon all week. Things went better than I expected, but we did have a couple glitches. I have a mini trip report on the trip report board (that is for some reason not linking correctly) if you are interested in anything other than FP.

Happy to answer any questions you have.

Thank you! I've read some reports that have me panicked. I will totally lose it if I have to wait for hours at guest services just to get in with my MB. It's good to hear that it's not all horrible. :goodvibes

I was panicked as well. Not to say that there are not issues- people's complaints are valid since it has been happening to them. However, for us, it was not like that. Things were relatively smooth!

I will say that the times we did have to use guest relations, the line was not awful. One plus was that they can give you an extra FP that can be used on any attraction at any time. Makes guests happy and costs them nothing. This seemed to be the resolution for most of our MB and non-MB related issues.
