How Fast Do Activities Book Up?

Just booked our first Disney Cruise to Alaska sailing July 20th! I'm anxious to book the extra activities (dinner at Palo, tea with the princesses, bibbidi bobbidi boutique etc). Since we are first time cruises we can't book until 75 days in advance. How quickly do these activities book up? Any tips or suggestions? Thank you :)

Book whatever you are interested in as soon as your booking window opens! If they’re sold out, go to guest services as soon as you board the ship.

We loved Alaska although didn’t cruise with Disney at the time. It’s beautiful and you’ll love it

Does booking open at midnight on the date it says you can sign up for activities? Ours is May 6th- can I go online at 12:01a.m. and sign up?

Yes, Eastern time. You can check-in a bit before that if you wish, but you do not need to be checked-in to book activities.

Dinner at Palo: yes, no problem, if you are flexible on days and times. Palo brunch will almost certainly be sold out though.

Tea with princesses: You have a decent chance. We've been on 3 cruises and it was available for first-time cruisers for two of them. Sold out on our most recent cruise though.

Bibbidy Bobbedi: Yes, no problem, again if you are flexible on days and times. Formal night may sell out.

If you are unable to get the activities you want online, check the Navigator you receive when you check in at the port for where to go and when to go, to make the reservations. It is not always Guest Services. The location will vary by activity and ship. We were Silver and had no problem getting Palo Brunch reservations once we got on board. It was at the top of our list so it was the first place we went. Then off to another location to make reservations for a couple of tastings. We're still Silver and have been fortunate that we were able to get Palo Brunch, tastings, and a Princess meet and greet on our next cruise. There are Navigators posted online. Find one that is similar to your cruise and look at Day 1 to see where the information is located on the pages.

Great thank you for this information!

Ok good to know... book the Royal Tea first! I really hope it's still available it's the #1 thing my daughter wants to do

The good thing about Royal Tea is the cost is a deterrent for a lot of folks. So it tends to be a case that the free princess gathering books up first and the royal tea only books up once all the princess spots are gone: making it easier to get as a first timer. I am doing it on our next cruise with my princess obsessed 4-year-old son (he wears princess dresses almost every day and has renamed the move Aladdin "Princess Jasmine and the Magic Carpet Ride") and I think it will be worth every penny for him. Hope you get it too!

Don't forget, before you leave the ship... buy a placeholder (or book your next cruise) for the discounts and OBB.

Just remember: The only honest answer for, "How fast do activities book up?" is, "It depends". There are a LOT of variables in play. One cruise might have basically everything full by the time Silver books, and another cruise might have basically everything available a few weeks before sailing. The only thing that you can do is to attempt to book promptly when your window opens and then hope for the best!
