Hi we will be going to WDW in may for our first time. We are staying in POR and we was wanting to know how far town is were they might have eating spots or fastfood.

closest on II know of the McD's near the All star resorts.

Theres also a Md's just past the non disney hotels just past DDD shopping in Buena Vista

There's a McDonald's at the intersection near the All Star Resorts. I think it's open 24 hrs. Looking at the map, it's looks to be about 10-15 minutes away from POR.

Downtown disney has A mcdonald's that i noticed when we were there 2 weeks ago. You could take a bus or a boat from riverside toget there. they also have an awesome sandwich place in down town disney called Earl of sandwich. It's counter service the line can be long but its soo good. Off of disney property im not sure. hope someone else can help u with that!! have a great trip!

If you mean the McDonalds that is in DTD next to Lego shop it is closing well getting changed to Pollo Campenero anyways.

If you have a car, there are tons of places to eat near POR. Just go the back way to DTD, using the road that goes by the entrances to OKW and SSR. Then go past the DTD hotels and there are tons of options. I usually stay at POFQ in the off season and it takes me about 5 minutes to get to the much cheaper food. Very much worth the trip!

Really, there are so many places to eat just on the property, from quick, cheaper food to wonderful meals, we have never even considered going anywhere else. What kind of food were you looking for? Downtown Disney has great places, one of our favorites is Earl of Sandwich for a quick bite. We also stay at POR alot and the food court there is very good as far as food courts go. Walk over to the French Quarter and get some beignets for desert they are great.

I agree with you concerning the on-site choices, but the terms 'Disney Food' and 'cheaper' don't belong in the same sentence.

Yeah, I know what you mean about Disney food and cheaper, I feed 7 people at a time. I should have said there is expensive disney food and REALLY expensive Disney food :rotfl:

If you really want to go offsite, you could go into Orlando, there are millions of food places there. I think it takes about 1/2 hour depending on traffic. International drive is full of choices, but I think it is a pain to drive into those areas.

well we will have our own car and we have three small picky eaters!!
Also I was wanting to see if anything was closer for a couple of dinners
For cheaper meals!! We did not do the dining package throw disney because the girls dont eat just anything. So that is why I was asking if anyone has any advice on off site fastfood spots.

As a few have stated, there are quite a few options on State Route 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.). If you head toward Downtown Disney, pass all the Downtown Disney resorts, etc., the road you're on will end at 535. If you make a right, there are a number of options on the right side of the road....Chic-Fil-A, Wendy's. On the other side of the road, there's a McDonalds, Subway and a number of chain sit-down restaurants that aren't too pricey - Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Longhorn Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chevy's Fresh Mex, TGI Fridays, Fuddruckers, Pizzeria Uno Chicago Grill and I'm sure many more that I'm forgetting. Most of the restaurants that I said were on the opposite side of 535 are actually directly across the from the light at Hotel Plaza Rd. (the street DTD and DTD hotels are on) and 535.

Use Google Maps for the intersection State Route 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, FL and zoom in... you'll see exactly where many of these places are located.

You'll find just about every fast food or chain nearby. Follow signs to Downtown Disney Marketplace, then take Hotel Blvd to the end. There are restaurants in both directions.

We will be there May 16 through the 29th and we drive in from Indiana. We rent DVC points and stay in a studio with a microwave and fridge so we drive the couple of miles out to State Road 535 and hit Walmart for groceries then we always eat at least once at Longhorn ( I highly recommend this if you want a good steak) and Chevy's is a very good mexican resturant. The McDonald's there on the crossroads of 535 and I think it is Hotel Plaza Rd is the cleanest McDonalds I have ever been to. Even my kids comment on how nice it is.

Outside of WDW is Kissimmee, W. IRLO BRONSON freeway, and there you will find lots of fast food choices.

I was just going to mention Rte 192 - I come to work by way of Animal Kingdom - off 192 (and Sherberth Rd)

If I had a car, I would go offsite quite a bit. I think the bulk of disney food is garbage.

i think there is food places everywhere in florida or maybe it just seems like it. not been offsite for stuff for quite a long time but i remember roads full of eating places and shops

Here's a vote for taking the boat from POR to DTD, and going to Earl of Sandwich.

Bubbaloo's BBQ. It's not that close to DTD, but, it's easy to get to from there.

PM for directions.

Why leave Port Orleans? Just go over to POFQ and get some Beignets. What more could you want?
