do you send out/give out birthday party invites? My daughter's party will be on a Sunday afternoon so I thinking of sending them to school the Monday before. For her Girl Scout troop, there is no meeting the Monday before so it will have to be 2 Mondays before with an e-mail follow up.

Also, whats the no show ratio like? Say we invite 30 kids, should I count on atleast 20 showing?

I usually send my DD's b-day invites at least 2 weeks ahead of time. Gives the parents time to go shopping for a gift, etc. Also, I always ask that they RSVP by a certain date so that you know how many to expect.

Hope you have a fun party!!! :0)

I usually do 2 to 2 1/2 weeks before the party; sometimes 3, but that's because my older son's birthday almost always falls around Thanksgiving. I want to give people plenty of notice! And you never know how many will show up- I ask for RSVP's to help me figure that one out. If you invited 30, I would expect at least 15-20. And buy favors for 25, just in case!

Can I make a suggestion please? Make sure that it's okay with the teacher for your DD to take the invitations to school. Some teachers don't permit this (especially if the entire class isn't invited) and I would hate to see your daughter embarrassed if the teacher said something to her.

I would also give a couple of weeks notice so that gifts can be purchased. Have fun with the party!

Thanks everyone so far. I have OK'ed it with the teacher already. We are inviting the entire class so no one will feel left out.
