How far in advance does Jet Blue book

I have been playing with flights for a long time. I would really prefer Jet Blue but for as long as I have been looking the longest out it says you can book is Sept 6. Before when I clicked on it it said Jet Blue only books 8 months in advance, today I checked and it said 7 months. Next month will it say 6 months? Does anyone know for sure how far out they book?

Thanks!

JetBlue booking is a bit strange. They seem to put out about three or four months worth of booking dates out at a time. So all of the sudden, you'll hear, "JetBlue is now booking through December 19, 2006" (or whatever date the chose). A moderator on this board and myself are patiently waiting for the December dates to come out.

 :surfweb: ...patiently waiting....I think not!!! I'm going to start pulling my hair out soon!!!

I'm not very patient either. I called them last week and they said they hoped the new dates would be out by the middle of the month (but then again, they told me in Jan. they would be out in Feb!)

Something DOES seem to be "up" with JetBlue... It is getting very frustrating waiting for them.. I love them also and have been waiting for them to release flight info before I book with someone else for an upcoming trip in October.

I'm guessing it has to do with fuel prices and trying to best plan for the proper flights and fuel costs.

I'm also tired of waiting. I'm looking to book flight in November, and have been checking every day. They first told me new flights would be released in Feb, and then beginning of March, and then switched it to mid or end of March.

For everyone waiting for October with JetBlue (me too!!), last year they released October fares on or around March 23. I was keeping a lookout to get a heads up for our trip in October 2006.Also, when they did release the dates the BOS/MCO fares started at $355 round trip. They went down to $165 on May 6 and then back up to $195 on May 22 and stayed there until July 17, when they went down to $155. I am hoping to wait until July this year to purchase our tickets but doubt if they will go as low as last year. Hope this helps some of you! (I know a bit of an obssessive planner here....hey how else do you pass a whole year in between trips!! :confused3 )

Oh man....I just want to book my stupid trip in Dec!!! Anything under $200 will be fine with me. I'm just concerned since I booked my dh and dd for their flight from Boston to MCO in May with JB last month and they have done away with the flight I booked, changed them to 2 hrs earlier, with a connection and the price more than doubled!!! Here I thought that JB didn't make those changes....I might just as well stay with Delta..at least I know they're going to make a ton of changes. :confused3

I am also getting very annoyed with the waiting. I could have booked Delta last month for Nov. for $177.00 per ticket out of Boston but I did not because I was waiting on JB. Now, those same tickets from Delta are $1000.00!!
Boy, am I kicking myself in the butt now. I just hope some better deals come along from either airline.

I also waited like an idiot and now it's pricing over $400, I am sick about it and I was sooooo stupid!!

I can get an AA flight but really want to fly Delta. Seat guru has almost all the seats on the AA plane as bad seats and it's a small plane.

If you book a flight and the price goes down later, won't they give you a credit for the difference?

yeah but that would mean laying out double for airfare. Last Oct I paid $120 r/t on Delta. Why are they pricing so high?

That's not just ordinary November at that price, that's for Thanksgiving week that it's $1,000 r-t. The rest of November on Delta ais much cheaper. But during the "busiest flying days of the year" they have fewer low priced seats.

We are watching the same timeframe, and I too am kicking myself for waiting. Fortunately, we had snagged our return fare for the Monday after Thxgiving for $87.50 each, one-way non-stop. Now that's a fare that warms my heart. I'm waiting for JetBlue to come out with anything half-way decent for the flight down, but will need to hop on those lower fares early to make sure we get one of them. DW is resistant to flying out of Providence (and therefore SWA is out), so we pretty much have to wait on JetBlue this month.

As soon as I know anything, I'll post here (after I've bought my tix of course). A colleague's DH works at JetBlue, and hopes to get me the info ahead of time, but I'm not counting on it - just checking the website once or twice a day.

Good luck all!

Hi, I just looked online at Delta.com and for Nov. 4-12
r-t, non stop from Boston it is $1027.11. I cannot believe it is that high. I could maybe see it for Thanksgiving week but not for that week. I do not think they want to sell any tickets at the moment. UGH!!! Let's hope for some good prices soon. :cheer2:

Thanks soo much for responding. I am soo glad I am not the only one perplexed by the booking issue. Interesting how many fellow MA travelers posted in this thread.

I will keep watching JetBlue and hope for a decent price. I could have booked on Delta at the travel show for $ 187 round trip non stop but I really want my 4 year olds first flights to be on JetBlue!

I called Jet Blue today and asked this same question. We need a flight November 30th - Dec 2nd. They said they hoped by mid April.

They have to pay for the oil that is required to make the jet go. It costs a lot more than it used to, and it's never going to be $30 a barrel again. Super cheap airfares are soon to be a thing of the past.

I would normally agree with this, but when I booked back in Feb, it was $79 pp, one way, at a time I liked. Then, 10 days later, only that particular flight changed to a flight two hours earlier, with a connection in JFK, and the price went to $239 pp! Then, the price went 'down' to $199 where it is today. Now, 95% of the other flights that day remained the same..only the late afternoon ones changed prices and times. I had heard that once JB puts those dates out, they pretty much remain unchanged. I don't have a huge issue with the raise in fare, but please leave my times alone. Why the heck would they take away a flight only to replace it with a less desirable time at more than triple the cost? Because they can. Drives me nuts!! Sure the price of oil is going up, way up....so charge me what you're going to charge me and leave it be. Raise all the fares a bit and leave the flights alone. I really think we're going to see the end of those $130 r/t flights to MCO. But if I could depend on a flight staying where I booked it, I would be happy to pay a bit more!!

Do you by any chance remember about what time of day they release new flight info? Is it after midnight/first thing in the morning, or is it sometime throughout the afternoon? Thanks.
