How much we use DVC can have a lot to do with how far away we live. Want to do a quick poll?

Interesting poll, Pam. And nicely formatted! I know you have claimed to be "poll challenged" in the past! ;)

We live in St. Louis....almost exactly 1,000 miles from WDW.

And we now drive every trip to WDW....twice this summer!

How often we go is determined more by our point total than our distance....we'd go two or three times every year if we had enough points!

No cost for dreaming, is there? :)

Hi Pam! We live about 750 miles (give or take a few) from our home resort of Hilton Head. Proximity is one reason we picked HH as our home base. It is much easier to think of our home as being 12 hours away as oppose to 18 hours. Of course this is by car, by plane it would be much faster, but not necessarily cheaper for our family.

Right now with DS school schedule, we have to limit our trips to once a year. We just had high school orientation and they were very clear that they are not approving of "unexcused" absenses so we will be sticking to summer time or holiday breaks for now so that means 1 trip per year most likely - don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, I'm just happy to have a DVC home to go to at all! :)

1444 miles according to Expedia... :(

One, weeklong trip a year for us - via plane. DH would probably drive it, but I don't particularly care for such loonnngg road trips. (Takes too much time away from the vacation!)

According to Map Quest it is 1,100 miles from my house to my home at VWL.

Hi Pam.
The poll thingy is not letting me vote again, but I am close to you (I live in Connecticut). I think it's around 1200 miles.

It is approximatley 654 miles from our home to OKW. Sometimes we drive it in one day ( about 10 and one-half hours); sometimes we stop along the way ( usually on the return drip at Perry or Macon, Georgia); and sometimes we fly down. We usually fly when we are going for a short stay such as an extended weekend. BTW.....I having trouble voting on the poll. It keeps saying I have an invalid session. I checked to make sure I was logged-in but that doesn't work either. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

We're all the way over in l'il Ol' England (not sure how far that is), but I would have loved to have been able to check the box that said "less than 100 miles";)

Approx. a 1000 miles from our house to VWL. Katy, Tx. is on the west side of Houston. An hour of our 16 hour drive is driving across Houston.

I've driven it so may times now I've got it memorized. We're right at 980 miles from OKW (give or take a mile or two depending on which entrance we use.)

We now like to stop at a Fairfield Inn we like in Macon, GA. That puts us over an hour past the halfway point. In the morning, after a leisurely breakfast, we drive "home" arriving right about 4:00 check-in time. Then it's unload the car, relax, and enjoy the resort, often taking the boat to Downtown Disney. Then the next day we begin hittin' the parks.

It's 1143.5 miles for us according to Yahoo maps. This is from our new location in TX. We lived in NY when we bought at BWV and traveled for our 1st 3 member trips. Then, it was 1197.8 miles. How can I move so far and not get much closer to WDW!! I'm happy that I've at least shaved an hour or so off the trip though!
;)

For us in NE Ohio it is 1060 miles:( , but we have never driven it anyway. We are only 1 hour away from 3 airports (Cleveland,Pittsburgh, and Akron);) , so in reality, we are 2 hrs away(flying). I guess when we are retired in 5 years we will drive down and spend 3-4 weeks down in DVC resorts in January-Febuary.

We live in central Missouri about 1100 miles from WDW. In the past, we have made the drive but lately we always fly. As our kids got older, we had to juggle our vacation around their sports/school schedule so time was limited. I have been able to find really good airfare lately also. Last spring it was $106 rt and this fall we have $125 rt both nonstop or SWA from KC.

We live in Atlanta, which is 435 miles or so from BWV where we own. We can make it in 7 or 8 hours or so. Not a bad trip at all, as we leave at 5-6 am and get to WDW at around 2 or so.

LOL! Maistre, it won't even let me vote. Maybe it's a "Connecticut thing" ;) 1,200 miles give or take sounds right to me. Maybe we can vote tomorrow. ;)

I thought about this poll later on and maybe I should have offered more worldwide choices. I apologize if anyone feels slighted. I was basically trying to determine realistic drives vs. have to fly. Feel free to "sign in" with your national origin if you like. Or, maybe you'll have to if you are "poll prohibited" like me and Maistre Gracey. :)

Boy...it would be great if I lived in Celebration and could vacation at BWV ;)

But, alas, it ia 1061 miles from Central New Jersey to my home at the BWV. I'll be home at WDW soon, though (never soon enough until I'm there!)

We moved from Tennessee to Washington in April. We'll be making or first trip "home" to BWV in 7days 23 hours! Thank goodness for airplanes. I checked Expedia when I saw your poll and it's 2903 miles and would take 46 hours!

We live 1,250 or so miles away and have always driven (two day each way). Now that we are retired we stay three weeks each time. September will be our first trip as DVC members. :)
