How far are the Everglades from Orlando?

My DH is not a big Disney fan and says the only way he'll go is if we make a sidetrip to the Everglades. How far is this from Orlando?

It takes about 4-5 hours sometimes longer depending on traffic to get down there. It also depends on where you are leaving from in Central Florida and where in the Everglades you are going to. If you are leaving from WDW property and going to Everglades National Park, which is almost the southern most area in the Everglades, it will take just over 5 hours to get there (again that depends on traffic, weather, etc).

How about a day trip to the Disney Wilderness Preserve, which is just an hour south of Disney at the headwaters of the Everglades. I've not been, but it sounds like cool place. Here are a few links. It's also mentioned in the unofficial guide.

We have done the above wilderness preserve gifted by disney.

It is located at the end of Poinciana Blvd. not an hour away maybe 30 min. with traffic from Disney property. We were there last Feb. It was closed the first time we went they we doing a managed burn. We never got to do the ride it was closed.

It was ok not anything I would say was a must do. We try to do a couple of different things so I can recomend or give better info to our guests.

I do not know what your scedule is like but if you can fly out of an airport down south you can do disney then drive south and do a night down in the everglades. It could be an adventure.
