How family friendly is Gay Day at WDW?

On yours maybe! But not on mine, now im a little bit excited that we're going on this week...anyone know if its going to be happening at the Atlantic Dance Hall (boardwalk) or is all the partying done at PI?

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

p.s. the Bible teaches to love everyone and accept them as well...ohhh the irony! not going to argue, but if you wish to pm me, im sure my years in catholic high school, ccd, being an alterboy, and having to goto church every sunday will help :p

I bet there are a lot of 'committed christians' who are quite happy to have loving committed christian gays in their community. Being christian does not preclude acceptance and tolerance of other types of people.

Personally, this Judeo-Christian, heterosexual, white-pickett fence having person thanks God that we live in a time where the lifestyle of 'Gays' is becoming seen as more normal. I believe God loves love. I certainly hope so.

Just as a note to all of you 'gays' out there,

Just because there is a very vocal minority out there against gays, most of us, especially the younger generations, don't give a damn who you sleep with as long as you pay your taxes, are responsible, and don't let your dogs poop on our lawns.

Also, you could teach us some of those freaky-cool dance moves! :cool1:

But anti sin,
So is Christ and his teaching.
No such thing as a "Gay" Christian....
Homesexuality IS a sin as the Bible teaches.
I will avoide "Gay" days as this behaviour saddenes me and is against all things that are good and wholesom about family life!

Wow, not to make you feel more sad, but you do realize what a gay-friendly company Disney is, right? They sort of have to be since such a large number of gay people choose to work for the mouse. They do things like give same-sex health and insurance benefits.

Also, this might also shock you, but out there in Hollywood where all these Disney films are made? TONS of gays working for Disney. Come on, do you think a straight man drew Alladin or Mel Gibson in Pochontas? ;)

Just some food for thought...gays are everywhere, especially in the theme park and entertainment industry. I bet you've been waited on, had your tickets taken from, or maybe even been on a ride operated by a gay person.

You might already be tainted! :rotfl2:

"Gay Days"
As my family are all commited christians i feel these events are things we will do all in our power to avoide. We belive that homosexuality is a sin and we see this is a sign of the times that we live in that "Gays" are normalised in our society. I would say that this is the Bibles teaching and we both feel that wherever possible we will avoide these events.
This has put a downer on our holiday.
AAAA,S :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
I'm always wondering if these things are said in a thread by someone who is just out to "stir the pot", then sit back and enjoy everyone's angry rants.
The reality is one's personal relationship, or lack thereof, with God (whatever name you give him/her) and your religious beliefs are probably not best debated on a Walt Disney World discussion board.

So they're not dressed like the Village People and having sex in the streets? Dang it.

Also, does "Gay" mean primarily men, or are we including lesbians? Because if it's mostly men, that would be a great time for me to go... shorter lines in the ladies room! :teeth:

:sad2: What the Bible,s view on Homesexuality do we labled with being anti Gay.
Whats wrong is that in many christians eyes homesexuality which is a sin to God is normalised by society both in the U.S. and U.K.
We feel that a family orientated holiday destination will be contaminated by outwardly Gay people and that is somthing that My wife and kids dont want to see.
We will go on other days when we will not be subject to the mass amout of Gay people.
Christ loved the sinner but not the sin......

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Ah, spring is in the air! The air is warm, the flowers are blooming, and the Gay Days threads are springing up!

Have a great time next month, all you Resdhirts. :grouphug:

I hate to break it to you, but any time you go to WDW you're going to see SINNERS! Tons of them! The place is full of them! Divorcees, adulterers, bearers of children out of wedlock, people who do not tithe, people who do not honor the sabbath day and keep it holy, and worst of all (no, not wearers of fanny packs) - people who judge others. If you don't want to be subject to a mass amount of "sinners," perhaps you shouldn't go at all.

Oh how right you are...it's truly tragic that one sect of one religion doesn't get to make the rules for society as a whole. Tsk, tsk...what is this world coming to that we aren't ruled by the Borg. You will be assimilated.

Hate to tell you, but your day to day life is "contaminated" by gays. They're all around you, in every segment of society. Guess you better go hide out in the church building with wooden stakes and torches...cause they're coming for you :::insert creepy horror music here::::

I see where your coming from, but as one christian to another I want to discourage you from singling out one sin as worse then any other. So what if it's a sin. There are lots of things that are sins. I'm sure even you are guilty of a few...I know I'm guilty. You know what the BEST news is? You are not responsible for their sins or my sins or anyone else's sins!!! YAY!! Sin is sin and there is no better or worse sin and lucky for us all sin is forgivable. You know what your bible says, great, live by it, live your life they way you interpret it, but don't expect me or anyone else to read it the same way you do. We can all read the same scripture and come out with a different meaning. It doesn't mean anyone is wrong, it means God has touched our lives, our hearts in different ways.

Everyone go to Disney World and have a FABULOUS time!!

You know, every time someone starts a Gay Day thread, it always turns ugly.

Here's what I say:

You make the decision on when to go to Orlando/WDW. No one forces you to go at a certain time. If you don't like going when Gay Days happen, then don't. If you do, great. Gay Days have been happening for ages now and you know what... it's going to still happen in the future.

So to those who will stay away from Gay Days, that's fine by me. To those who will be going during Gay Days, have a great time!

If you want to debate the merits of going/not going during Gay Days... take it to the CB.

well mister 50bear, there are gays in the parks EVERYDAY!! i will be there in january with my husband, my girls, my parents, my grandmother, and my :scared1: GAY SISTER :scared1: . we're hoping her :scared1: girlfriend :scared1: can join us as well! perhaps you might want to avoid DW in january too.

and by the way, as has already been mentioned, disney is a very gay friendly company. my sister worked for disney for years. they paid her "partner's" health insurance. even paid for them to move cross country for a transfer. so perhaps while you're at it, you should just find another outlet for your "wholesome family life". sounds like disney is much to sinister for you! pirate:

We should cut and paste this thread into every Gay Day thread that pops up!! Well said.

You know what? I was going to respond, but I suddenly lack the energy. This is exactly the kind of hypocritical, closed-minded attitude that makes me embarrassed to tell people I'm a Christian. :guilty:

This has put a downer on our holiday.
AAAA,S :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Do you socialize or avoid people that smoke? Are "smokers" a "downer on your holiday"?

Do you socialize or avoid people that are divorced? Are all those divorced people at Disney a "downer on your holiday"?

Do you socialize or avoid people that swear or drink too much at times? Are those people a "downer on your holiday"?

Do you socialize or avoid people the go "just a little" bit faster than the speed limit on the streets? Are those people a "downer on your holiday"?

Do you socialize or avoid people of Jewish decent? What about Muslims? Buddists? Catholics? Angelicans? or god forbid those heathen Protestants....
Are people that believe differently than you a "downer on your holiday"?

You might want to reconsider EVER taking a "Holiday" at Disney, because everyday....

yes every single day of the year..

there are smokers, divorced people, people that go a "little bit" more than the speed limit, Jews, Muslims, Buddists, Catholics, Angelicans, Protestants and those DREADED homosexuals, myself included.

Disney is a place of diverse people...not only the "guests" but those that are Cast Members (both "on-stage" and behind-the-scenes") A few things I have "gleaned" about the "gay things at Disney people might want to avoid....(info from Sorcerer Figment and Deb in IA)

1. Ellen's Energy Adventure / The Living Seas - Because "yep, Ellen (Dory) is gay"
2. Circle of Life / Festival of the Lion King - Nathan Lane aka "Timon" is 'one of them.'
3. Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show / "Herbie: Fully Loaded" - The Herbie director, Angela Robinson, her too!
4. Might want to skip anything related to "Finding Nemo" as well. You know that Dory was voiced by the above-mentioned Ellen Degeneres.
5. In addition to Nathan Lane (voice of Timon in "Lion King"), many have questioned Scar's (Jeremy Irons) sexuality.
6. Likewise for Hopper in "It's Tough to be a Bug". He was voiced by Kevin Spacey, and we're not sure which way he swings either.
7. Oh, and forget about singing any of the songs from "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin" -- the lyricist, Howard Ashman, was one of them too.
8. Finally, I can't remember if there's anything at Disney World involving "Inspector Gaget", but you must know that Mr. Claw, aka Rupert Everett is gay.

If you are going to be intolerant of diversity, then Disney is not the place for you.

Anyone want to put up a "side wager" that this thread gets closed down in the next 24 hours? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

In all seriousness though.....I've only been a part of DIS since March, do these types of "debates" about people and their "behavior" happen about other "groups" that come UNOFFICIALLY to Disney? The Cheerleaders? Pop Warner? the NJ People....etc etc? I've seen some very "pointed" comments made about those groups and their "inappropriate" behavior, but NOTHING compared to the FEW...and I KNOW its a FEW people on DIS that jump on the "gay" thing at Disney...
