I would like to give my perspective on things as a Christian:
First off, I am a true, Christ-loving Christian.
However, I really get offended by Christians who take the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible and turn them into whatever they like. They seem to make their own interpretation of things.
Yes, as a Christian I do disagree with a homosexual lifestyle. HOWEVER, let's get one things straight, the "homophobes" in here are acting ANYTHING but Christian.
Christ's number one concern on earth is "love". Love one another. It doesn't say "love those who are like you". He says "love one another". If you do not believe in homosexuality, then fine, that's understandable, and if someone is a homosexual, they should accept that some people's religion doesn't accept that. However at the same time, that Christian should respect that person as a person.
A Christian by Christian teachings is to love everyone, even homosexuals and pray for them. As Christians we are supposed to be steadfast in our prayer life. Not just praying for homosexuals but praying for the sick, those in distress, just everyone. I appreciate it if someone prays for me. However, I dont appreciate if someone is disrespectful to me. I'm sure my mormon friends (which I do have) pray for me, and you know what? though I will never convert to Mormon, I appreciate that someone cares enough about me and shows enough care about me to pray for me and treat me like a respectable human being.
So, to you out there who are casting stones, be careful because for every finger you point, there are three that could be pointed back at you.
Jesus forgives anyone who asks, including homosexuals, and even you.
It's ok to keep your children away from that environment if you wish. Completely ok, but do so for your children's sake, and do not bash those that are gay, simply teach your children to treat them with respect and love and pray for them, and everyone else.
We all sin, thankfully Jesus can forgive it. I'm just sick of seeing Christians criticize so many people when it's against Jesus' teachings. We all will answer for our sins, so let Jesus deal with that. As Christians our job is to teach the word. You only do that. Your job isnt to tell everyone how wrong they are.
Judge not, lest ye be judged. just remember that!
Think of it like this my fellow christians: If you respectfully teach someone about your Christian beliefs, remember, respectfully, even if they don't convert, they will still respect you for your belief and respect you as a person. However, if you slam it in their face and scream hatred to them, they'll not only never convert they'll hate you and hate all Christians and personally, I dont want to be associated like that.
So, to anyone out there that is "non-Christian" please note: I do not agree, nor fit in the category as some of the "homophobes" on here. I may choose to shelter my children, but not to hate you, but to learn to respect and care and pray for everyone. Big difference. I just dont want Christians being thought of as such hippocrits, because unfortunately many are, but most of us are not. Just the one's that are often make the most noise, because they dont know when to shut their mouths.
