How early to do you get up?

I've been getting up for some many years at 4AM my internal clock works on automatic. Sometimes I might get up an hour later but not often. When I am up later I can usally expect to sleep till 6AM but thats the latest. I usally have coffee take a shower read the paper or when on vacation at Disney stroll around the resort and take in all the sites without very many people about. This is a very quiet time and you be amazed of what you see that you never notice before.

No alarm clocks here! The only time I set the alarm is on our last day to make sure we are up and out by 11AM. Other than that, we wake up when we wake up, usually around 9 - 9:30. We go off-season and having been there so many times, we don't worry about seeing every attraction in a day. It's our vacation and we like to take things easy. :teeth:

I think we will get up at 6:00 AM, be out at the bus by 7:00 am, and at the park by 8:00 am (for early open).

We do breakfast in our room (DVC rooms with kitchenette) so that cuts down on meal time.

Mickey usually gives us a call around 5:30. I get up and get ready. Then I wake up DH & DD's. I head out for coffee & juice for everyone while they get ready. I hose down everyone with sunscreen, make sure everyone is properly packed for the parks, give everyone a pop tart, breakfast bar or whatever we brought from home and we're off!

Wow, i'm so impressed with all u guys that are up by 6am. Wish i could do that- guess being a student you gte out of the habbit of early mornings. Last year on our only day at AK my parents were so worn out it took me 1 hr to get them out of bed and that was at 8. I couldn't help but sulk for a bit- we were late there and so queues had built up. My dad is one of those get in and out ppl and so wanted to leave by lunchtime and we weren't done!!!! :sad2:

So usually up 7.30, but definatley need to schedule rest/non-park days.

we get our wake up call for 6:30 and then are usually out the door by 7:30 or 7:45, get a light breakfast if we don't have ADR's somewhere and then hop on a bus for a park!!! ::MinnieMo

but if the parks are open we should be IN them, not putzing around the room! ;)

ITA -- in fact I think that will be the motto for our next trip!! :thumbsup2

ETA - crow11ad - I also love your quote - "You can sleep when you get home."

I believe I will be singing that around the room waking up the girls "Come on - come on - you can sleep when you get home!!"

or better yet maybe I will teach them to sing it to their dad!!

We follow the advice of the Unofficial Guide. Arrive early! Arrive early! Arrive early!

we went during spring break when the mk opened at 7am. we were there by 7:15 and the crowds were minimal considering how busy the week was. Our dd is 2 and it was great for getting on all of the rides in fantasyland without any wait at all. we were able to go on everything we wanted to go on and leave the parks during the hot and busy times to run back to relax or swim, then head beack around dinner time. The one day we did wait, the lines at the pop food court were crazy for breakfast and all of the epcot lines were huge waits. I think we will always be early morning people there.

We get up at 7am, kids eat breakfast in bed watching cartoons (we bring our own individual cereal boxes, bowls/utensils). Then at 8am we are out the door for the bus. Arrive at park before opening. Ride LOTS of rides before the lines get long and have lunch at park. Take bus back to hotel around 1-2pm when parks get crowded. Kids then swim for an hour or so, then we all take a nap for a few hours, shower, change shoes and head back to park around 7pm. We have dinner reservations at park around 8-9pm. Eat, watch fireworks and then usually ride a couple of favorite rides waiting for crowds to thin out and go back to hotel.

Next day - go to waterpark it's much more relaxing. We try to never put 2 theme parks in a row!

Day after - another theme park.

Repeat, repeat, repeat...

We wake when we feel like it. It is usually around 8:30 or so. We then shower and have breakfast and get to the parks around 11am. Most days we go to the pool first and don't get to the parks til after 3 pm.

We all tend to have much more energy in the morning and start flagging after dinner, so we're up by 6:00 at the very latest. If we have evening plans, we return to the resort for a rest in the afternoon to recharge.

I'm Up At 5 Am, Kids Up By 6 Am, Just Like Normal Day At Home, We Hit The Morning Emh Park And Ride Like Crazy...if We Felt That We Needed To Sleep In We'd Probably Do That At Home.........we Get So Caught Up In The Magic The Adrenaline Pushes Us Through..........disney Dollars Are Just Too Expensive To Spend On Napping That You Can Do At Home For Free....
