How early to do you get up?

DH and I are early risers. We wake between 5:00-6:00. Shower and head to the food court have breakfast. We sit outside to enjoy a second cup of tea, then go back and wake the boys.

The boys get ready, have breakfast and we're usually at the parks by opening.

Are you a wake up whenever kind of person and wing it for the day or do you set the alarm for daybreak and have your agenda to stick to?

<<<Since I always have to go in the summer(only time travel companions can go)I am always up at 6 a.m. to shower, then do hair amd makeup. We are all ready by 7:15 or so, head down to a quick breakfast and out the door to the parks. Since we are NOT late night annies(usually back to the hotel and in bed by 11:00 p.m.) we are able to get up early without feeling like we are dragging. In the summer you do get so much more accomplished by being an early riser. I have actually gone back to the hotel and taken a mid afternoon nap after after pooling it just to refresh myself dring the hottest time of the day.

We set the alarm for sometime between 6:30 and 7. We like to eat breakfast in the food court before leaving for the parks. The latest we'd probably leave the resort to get to the park for rope drop would be 8:30. Usually more like 8-8:15. :moped:

I am an early riser and have three young kids so 6 o'clock is usually the norm. I love to have my coffee and watch the Disney preview channel with the kids. Don't know how many times we watched the top ten attractions to see at WDW during our last trip. I should have taped it because I am in need of a Disney fix!!!!

0600 baby! Everyday. It gives us time to get up and get ready at our own pace. We shower the night before so we don't have to do that in the am. Besides, it helps me relax at bedtime.

We usually schedule a mickey wake up call for 830. I am usually up between 7 and 8, if i left it up to DH we wouldnt get out of bed until 11! After listening to all of you say 5:30-6:00 it makes me glad that it is still just the 2 of us!!

I am the early rise type...I don't want to miss a minute of the parks! And, it is usually less crowded in the early morning. Plus there is that 'I have an entire day of WDW ahead of me!' feeling that I get when I wake up. I will shower the night before, and wrap my hair in one of the mid-size towels to keep it damp until morning. Then, we get up around 6-6:30 am...depending on the park opening time. I get up, dry my damp hair, put on a little make-up, get my park gear on (i.e.- pin lanyard, ears if I wear them that day) and head off to the food court. DBF and I are a great team, and like to try to be out there by rope dropping time. When my family and I go, my Daddy and I are usually the ones who are up early and head out to the parks, and then we will come back to the hotel to pick up the rest of the gang around 10 or 11 am. (They are all sleepy heads!) Now, if I am up late..say the EMH at MK until 3 am...then I definately will be sleeping a little longer the next day.

We vary day to day. Sometimes we get up early and get to the park for opening. If we have a late night, we sleep in the next day. In the past we just winged this. I planned our early and late days for our fall vacation this year.

We just can't do opening and closing for an entire week without dropping from exhaustion. And since we go in the fall, the limited park hours are not condusive to afternoon breaks.

We haven't ever been, but I'm thinking of getting up at 6:30 for our family of four. Doing the math, it seems that leaving our room (at the Coronado Springs) by 8am will get us to each park by a half hour before opening.

What we do (DW would rather sleep in lol) is I get on the phone to have a wake up call. I set the alarm for 6 and then get a wake up call from Mickey and the gang, go eat our PS and then off to the park we go. Sleep at Disney are you crazy. You can sleep when you get home.

Set the alarm to EARLY - breakfast in the room (pastries & coffee) - at the park for rope drop! The first few hours at a park are simply so much better than the same amount of time in the humid heat of the afternoon!

We usually get up around 7-8 and have breakfast and some much needed coffee!! We usually get to the parks around 9:30 ish. Perfect time for us :thumbsup2

Odd man out here!
We sleep in. Whole family of night owls.

A normal morning is wake up somewhere around 9:30 or 10. Get ready and go have a sit down breakfast (DH is a big breakfast guy). Then we head for the parks and stay as long as possible... usually in the stores for atleast an hour after closing. By the time we're back, unwound and in bed it's LATE!

But we usually go in the winter... I don't think we'd be able to be out in the hottest part of the day everyday if it were summer.

I usually get up around 7. But in April I went with friends and we rented a house about 20 minutes from Disney. They didn't get up til around 11. The earliest we ever got to a park was 1:30. It drove me totally :crazy2: . I am so excited to be going with family and staying at POP in August & Sept. I can actually get to the parks when they open

We usually have Mickey call us around 6:45 for normal park days. At home, I normally get up between 7 and 7:30. For some reason, I can get out of bed a lot easier at WDW. :lmao: We don't have early mornings every day, though. We usually have a couple late nights followed by a day to sleep in.

I have "hotel insomnia" so by 5 AM I usually give up and get out of bed. I shower and get dressed and make sure we have all our park stuff. I get stuff out of the safe, gather up whatever needs to be put back in the suitcases, etc. We like to be at breakfast by 7 AM, because if there is a morning EMH we want to be there. DH and DS could probably sleep later if I would let them, but if the parks are open we should be IN them, not putzing around the room! ;)

I usually get up at 5:30am and jog, then get back with coffee, wake the DW up and we are on the bus by 7:30am.

Lord after all that walking i know your doing, you have the NERVE to get up and JOG??? I hate you. truley. Seriously. Well not really, just wow, i cant stand to stay on the second floor of a hotel without an elevator, does that tell you ANYTHING. (besides my ticker telling you i need to drop 30 lbs!) :rotfl2:

We go in the fall with smaller crowds. Since we are on vacation we like to enjoy some sleep time. We usually go to the parks around 10 and stay till we are about to drop. WE then come back to the room for a recharge and then go back to a park for the night time activities. :cool1:
