We'll be coming from AKL and checking in on a Saturday at the Dolphin. I was just wondering if anyone knew how early i could check-in? Can I just leave my bags and go to the parks?

As early as you get there. Your room might not be ready until after 3pm but yes, you can just store your bags with bell services.

Since they are both Disney resorts, you should be able to have all your bags moved for you. That way you can leave the first hotel, go to the park, return to the Dolphin and your stuff will be there.

We stayed at the Dolphin and we're able to get into our room at about 1:30 p.m., but it was right before July 4th and there was only one (smaller?) convention going on.

So,I will probably just drive over after our morning coffee. We're early risers thats why I wanted to know how early we could check-in. We're arriving on July 3rd (Saturday)next year,so not only is it a weekend ,but a holiday weekend! I can hardly wait!!!!

Someone correct me if I am wrong. But since the Swan and Dolphin are NOT Disney owned hotels, I didn't think that there was any luggage transfer available when moving resorts.

Bell services is right next to check in, so it is no problem at all to leave your bags with them. We used them at the beginning of our trip, as we arrived in the morning and our room wasn't ready, and when we checked out. We were getting to the airport by limo and we didn't leave for MCO until 5:30 pm. We dropped our bags off when we checked out of our room, telling them that we'd be picking them up when we were picked up for the airport. (not sure if they even needed that piece of information!). We spent the rest of the day at Epcot! When we asked for our bags at 5:30, they were there in seconds, and someone else from bell services went to check on our limo for us. This was our first no rental car trip and I have to say that we loved it!

I believe you are correct LadyLt. I was thinking the same thing when I read the post you quoted.

We have checked into our room as early as 10am without a problem. This year we had to wait until 1pm for a good view room to be cleaned but they stored our luggage for us and gave us pool passes so we could get towels

I thought I had read that you can have bags delivered to Swan/Dolphin from a Disney resort. You may want to check the Swan/Dolphin thread. The only Disney resort perk that Swan/Dolphin doesn't have is being able to charge to your room from the parks or another resort.
