How does your better half feel about your Disney obsession?

I dont have a better half...but should I ever find one, understanding my Disney Obsession is a requirement...not a desire...a requirement!

DH doesn't like to plan. And I try not to badger him every day with my new find or good deal.

DH told us he was all Disneyed out. So, DD and I went alone in Jan and March. He wasn't planning on coming in Aug. But, that changed a month or so ago and he's all gungho about going.

My DH works a 12 hour swing shift. All the children are grown and married so I can DIS quite a bit without bothering anyone or at least I could before I started keeping my five month old granddaughter! He could or take or leave WDW and tolerates my obsession with it. We try to go every two or three years. He is very good about my love for Disney just doesn't share it.

We love it that is one of our biggest parts of our family including my wifes parents and sister. We plan everything together and include the kids they love to help to.

My DH is on the road to reform. He certainly thought I was obsessed while I planned, tweaked, planned again this last trip (6/28 - 7/5/04). He even refused to go, so I took 3 kids and had a BLAST!:Pinkbounc
Then the day after we returned, filled with great magical stories, he suggested that I book a trip for this coming April - to include him. :hyper: Too funny!
The best part is that he knows nothing about the different hotels and PSs so I can book, plan, tweak to my heart's content. Poly here we come - if I can get discounts, ;) because even I have limits.
Now he even checks out pictures of certain Disney places that I ask his opinion on or actually listens when I tell him about a ressie I made. Maybe someday he will tell me what a great job I did planning the trip.
Anyway, he's taking baby steps....but getting there.

:D

My girlfriend is a Disney fanatic, just like me, the only difference though is that she likes Winnie the Pooh and I like Mickey Mouse. We both want to spend our honeymoon at WDW, whenever that may be. :D It's great having that same interest and to have that interest be an important one to us both. The good thing though is that Disney isn't our only interest that we share, but it is the biggest.

My DH likes WDW. Once or twice year is enough for him though.

I'm happy he likes to go. I'm happy he doesn't like to plan. He lets me do almost all the planning and he just tags along. Good. Because for me, planning is half the fun.
He doesn't DIS. He just isn't the type.

My DH likes WDW just not obsessed and doesn't DIS but a friend told me it's a good thing to have one that is not as obessive because you need someone to bring you back to earth or else we would be in bankruptcy court because I could go all the time!!:teeth:

If I'm a 10 on the Disney-obsession meter, DW is an 8.5. She lets me do all the planning, but she gets into it alot.

DH shares the Disney Obsession with me! :teeth: Now our kids are obsessed also. We aren't much on the planning thing, we just go and do. :D

DF is ok with WDW. He doesn't share my love or obsession yet but I'm working on it! Our first trip together will be Oct. 2005. He has only ever been during peak seasons and without much forethought or planning or even fastpasses. He doesn't know all the ins and outs that I do! lol So I'm hoping once he sees it can be done without waiting forever in lines and wall to wall poeple it will grow on him a little more. I'm hoping. The idea of the food and wine (well beer for him) festival really appealed to him so hence my taking late Oct/ early Nov. I will convert him from like to love yet! He'll never get to plan like I do though! That's my job. lol

I'm the planner and the obsessive in our household, but DW enjoys the trips quite a bit. We have made quite a few WDW trips, especially over the past 2-3 years and that has made planning less crucial. We still plan resort ressies and PSs, but the rest of it we try to keep casual.:earsboy:

Nope - I'm lucky that my DH loves Disney and the DIS as much as I do!

While I'm the main planner in the family we always talk out my plans and he gives his input. I know what he likes and he knows what I like so it is a great balance.

He has his own account here on the DIS and thanks to DSL we can be on at the same time. We've even been in chat together!

After our 4th trip in 5 years DH said that's it, I"m done, seen it, not going back again. We were all in the pool this weekend and he goes hmmmm, think it's time to start planning a Disney trip again. He complains a lot, but he always enjoys it and definitely appreciates my obsessive planning.

My DH loves WDW, no doubt about it. He's always talking about another trip - but he doesn't have the same Disney obsession as me. In fact, he thinks I'm kind of a geek because of it - but he enjoys seeing me happy, so it doesn't annoy him at all.

At least he likes WDW, if he didn't, I think he'd have to go.:p

DH likes to indulge DD and me with WDW trips. He enjoys it while he's there but it's not his favorite place to go. I do all the planning and he and DD are grateful when we get there that everything's all taken care of.

One of the biggest reasons I love him is this: He's told me that he's happy to take us there on vacation because he loves seeing DD and I so happy.

There are just not enough guys who think like you!

My BF could care less. When we get there , he has fun, but he'd also have fun sitting home in front of a playstation. He hates planning, things PS are silly and just generally goes along because I like it.

My exDH thought I was a fanatic when it came to Disney planning......and maybe I am!!!! I already hjave a annual pass ordered and tentative reservations for my November divorce trip!! That'll teach him!!! Planning is SSSSOOOO fun!! Not to mention that you have more time to enjoy WDW when you are there if all plans have been made! And just because you started posting replies.....you sucker!!! LOL!! I must be one too. A friend referred me here and I've quickly become addicted!!! Who cares what someone else thinks.....when you are standing in front of Cinderella's castle with "THAT" feeling, nothing else will matter!!!

Hey....just got rid of my DH that didn't like Mickey!!! LOL!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

:sad2: He looks like this when I talk about the DIS... (they don't have an "eyes glazed over" smiley, otherwise I would use that one, too.)

:scared1: And he looks like this when the bills come from WDW...

I don't know what we would do if he was as obsessed about WDW as I am, I guess we would move there into the Haunted Mansion. So it is good that one of us can keep it in line.;)
