How does waitlist work? Newbie needs help!! :)

Hey All

I am a long time lurker/dreamer. My SO and I just got our DVC! We went to closing last week. We are really really excited.

I have a question: How do the waitlists work? How often does someone get put on the waitlists? What if I am truly flexible about where I want stay? For example - we are thinking of heading to the World end of July - just the 2 of us. Our points are at WL but we dont really care as long as we get a studio somewhere. What are the odds?

What if we wanted to go down at the last minute for Mem. Day?

I just called on Friday to make reservations for June 17th-June 20th.

Every studio was sold out. So, I booked a one BR and waitlisted for ANY studio for the three nights. All I cared was that I didn't have to move. My waitlist came through yesterday. I have 3 nites in a studio at SSR.

I doubt it will happen but I'm going to re-waitlist for the same dates any view at AKL. Either way, I'm glad I could save the points that I would have needed for a 1 bedroom.
