I thought that earlier when I was writing my comment about the LA riots but it goes against everything the police stand for.

Everyone hate the police until they need them.

Well, all of the usual suspects in Ferguson and DC are saying that the police are the problem, so if the police leave, then Ferguson should be all sunshine and roses, right?

Let 'em pull out and see if that theory holds.

On the other hand you will also see posters saying how to deal with police and it's described in a submissive way... Hands up.. No questions.. Yes sir/ma'am... No sudden movements. That's also teaching children to fear the police. Teaching children to expect the police to abuse their power and act like little submissive robots is not much better.

Ummm... That's not fear....just respectful and smart. Same here as any other country. Don't know why, Americans think, they should challenge law enforcement. If necessary, wait for a court room. Just my opinion.

I didn't get any picture in my mind. I guess I'd need more info before I could get a feel for who would be responsible for those crimes. The drug one I'd assume it was some drug addicts because of what was stolen but it's not like I have a picture in my head of what they look like.
The kid one, I'd need more info before I'd even take a guess.

Because in America we have this silly thing called the bill of rights. I know it's antiquated but it's got stuff like, you don't get to search and seize me just because your a cop, you don't get to pull me out of my car just because your a cop. You don't get to stop me and ask me intrusive questions without probable cause.

Depends on what you picture in your head when you envision a methhead or a creepy guy.

I envision a methhead as a skinny white 20-30 year old with terrible skin and rotten teeth that looks half dead. I don't think that's profiling, that's reality. For whatever reason meth seems to be used mostly by white people, I'd say the same of crack except it would be a skinny half dead looking black person.

I don't view that as racist or profiling, it's observation.

The problem is when people assign those characteristics to everyone based on those preconceived notions, just because most meth heads are white doesn't mean all white people are meth heads, likewise for crack heads, criminals, etc, etc, etc.

I doubt the FBI would need more info, most people that pay attention know exactly who commits these 2 crimes the most.

The way it was described by those posters is out of a sense of fear. It was act this way so you don't give the police a reason to mess with you. I'm not saying anyone should be disrespectful of police. It's just sad that the expectation is if you do anything they don't like you will get what's coming to you.

As far as why Americans think they can challenge law enforcement, to a certain extent they should be able to. Not challenge them in an aggressive way but the idea that a police officer has some absolute power over you is not right and it shouldn't be what people think.

Who said anything about challenge them when they are not acting out of line? Posters have been saying to never challenge them and just report the incident later. It's not about challengeing the police just to be a jerk but the idea that you should never challenge police even when they are doing something against your rights, is not a good thing.

Very simple. Just because you are a cop does not make one GOD. That's the entire point behind the constitution. Cops do not get to do what they want, when they want just because they are wearing a badge.

Yes, you want to stop me and ask me question, you have to tell me why.
You pull me over or stop me in my car? Yes, I get to question that?

No, I dont have to let you in my house without a search warrant.

I have no problem accepting the consequences.

Now of course let's define "challenge". Would I get out of my car swinging at a cop? No, of course not. If I'm told to leave a mcdonalds I have the full right of being there? Yes, I'm asking why?
