It accomplishes nothing for them as they don't really have a cause. All it does for me is cement my thought that it can't be easy to be a police officer in certain areas where animals are just looking for an excuse to act out.

No we can't wait for an investigation because the investigation will lead to what it always leads to when police kill African Americans. No where.

That's the perception, of course, of both you and many of the rioters/looters. But in reality, you can find plenty of examples of these things that you say don't exist. Google "police shoot unarmed black man conviction indictment" and you will find any number of examples where things went further than "nowhere". But the problem is that people react on the basis of perception, instead of reality.

Have you done your homework? I guess Stop and Frisk wasn't such a great idea after all because they put an end to it.

Poverty stricken areas everywhere are the targets of crime. This will never stop because people don't care and nothing is being done about it.

If a young black male gets killed here in the city of Buffalo they talk about it on the news for a couple of days. If a affluent person in the suburbs gets killed they talk about it for weeks. Even the media is biased.

Stop and Frisk was heavily curtailed due to Political Pressure. That is it.

I agree, THAT sort of sentiment is exactly what many people think the police officer was thinking...we will have to wait for the investigation to be sure.

The trouble is, it started with demonstrations, and them some people 1. let their frustrations get the better of them, and 2. decided to use the chaos to commit crimes.

But this isn't new...been happening for centuries, The Draft Riots in New York in the 1860's is a perfect example...it is not that these people are "animals" it is that they are all too human, and as such, there are people with evil motivations among them.

I will say that here in Buffalo people who live in these areas are getting fed up of what is happening in their neighborhoods and taking action. One good thing that is happening is that there are block clubs being formed. It is hard when you own a home and feel that you are trapped in that home for fear of being mugged or even worse killed on your own street.

That's what it will take. Even in the very WORST neighborhoods, the vast majority of people are good, honest citizens who just want a peaceful life. But too often, these are the people who defend thugs as "good boys", who won't testify or press charges, and just in general look the other way. When those people decide they have had enough, that's when positive change can come about.

I wish I had a link to the NAACP conference held last night. I watched it & they had a lot of really good things to say.

To be offended by the name given is pretty silly.

Any human that seems to purposely destroy property and pillage if is very much behaving like an animal.

When we camp--all food items must be properly secured or the animals will restore whatever they have to in order to her to it. I would say these people behaved worse than animals.

Pretty soon, if it is not already happening, the only people crazy enough to be police officers will be people that have exhausted all other opportunities at employment. Expectations are unreal for these poor individuals.
You think you have corruption now, just wait til that happens.
If you teach your children that police are going to be after your particular race, that in itself is just wrong (judging the police as a whole of being racist or bigoted).
See it all the time. Police were called out in my community about a guy running around with a hatchet threatening the neighbors. The police came out, tried to talk him down for about an hour, he then runs straight at them with the hatchet in an attack mode, and they shoot him. Outrage by the community. How dare they shoot him? Why didn't they just wing him?
"It is just because he was black".

What happened was two boys shoplifted some cigarillos around five dollars worth at the QT.

QT called the police and the officer stopped the 2 boys walking that fit the description.

The officer got out of his car. The boys proceeded to assault the officer, pushing him back into the car. The boys tried to get his gun. The gun went off in the car not hitting anyone.

The boys took off running and the officer got out and fired shots killing the one of the boys.

The QT was targeted so hard because it was the QT that called the police on the boys.

"Snitches get Stiches" is being spray painted on many buildings. The QT employees are fearing for themselves.

How reliable is your source? I am not saying what you relaying is true or not, but it sounds more credible than an officer randomly shooting someone for zero reason. Again, not saying I believe or disbelieve, just that IF this is true, glad there is a credible storyline.

This is from people that live there. Like I said, it is the "dirt on the street".

If they were stealing that certainly changes the situation. The sad thing is that a lot of times people automatically portray the police as the bad guys(seems like they get a lot of the discrimination these days too) and the person who committed a crime like the innocent choir boy who did nothing wrong. Not saying that is how it happened here, but if you were not stealing and then resisting arrest it wouldn't have happened. Again, is it sad and tragic that a child lost his life early....absolutely, but children need to be taught to follow the law and follow directions to prevent these tragedies. Until the families and communities start taking responsibility for the role the person killed/injured played in the incident that will never happen and the cycle will continue. Instead they are outraged their innocent child was hurt all at the fault of someone else. Nobody is taking responsibility for their actions it is just blame, blame, blame.

This will surely ruffle some feathers, but I believe profiling is not such a bad thing. It is criticized by PC folks, but really.
If we have had 17 hijackings in the last 5 years, and all the hijackers were Middle Eastern, wouldn't it make sense to pay closer attention to these (Middle Eastern) flyers and scrutinize them more than to check every 6th passenger in line at the terminals, be it a baby, 88 year old woman, etc?
Other countries are laughing at us these days.
