My family of 4 is on the DDP on our upcoming trip, DH, DS8, DS5 and myself. If we split up at all, and choose to eat at a counter service seperatly, will we BOTH have a DDP card with credits? I know how many we have per day, but what if we're not together and want to order something? Are they on your room card? (we already planned on asking for two) I know the points will all be lumped together, but is there a way for us to both access them seperatly? Thanks!

We leave in 72 hours!!!

We just went on our first trip last week, so I hope I give you good advice...

Everyone will get their own card that is good for room, ticket, and meal plan.

You only have to use one card when "paying" for the meal plan. All the credits are lumped together. When you use your credits your receipt will tell you how many credits you use and how many credits you have left. Also, adults and kids will have a separate receipt.

If you want to keep track of how much you "spent" you will have to mark it down because the receipt will show zeroes.

If you split up you each should have a card. Make sure you tell the counter service CM that you are on the dining plan. My dad had a problem with this. We split up in Epcot for CS, and he was not familiar with the DDP, and since you can also use your card to "charge" the CM refused his card because I did not have charging priviliges. He did not know to tell them he was on the dining plan, and I don't know why the CM wasn't with it enough to figure out he might be on the dining plan. So he ended up paying OOP. Oh Well.

So anyway the answer is yes you can access them separately.

Have a great trip! I have two DS also 10 and 6 and they had a great time!

Hi, we'll be there next month (DEC) and have the dining plan. Are the refillable mugs included in the plan?

Thanks,

Steve

Thank you so much for the quick reply! :) That answers my question then. (and the exact answer I was hoping for too) My DH and I last went to WDW for our Honeymoon in 1995, so it's been awhile! :rolleyes1 I am so excited to see it all again though through my boys eyes. They are so excited! Only three more sleeps until we leave (we're driving-19 hours! ). Can't wait! Thanks again!

No-sorry. THIS December, they are not included but you may purchase them for around $12 at your resort.

Also, adults and kids will have a separate receipt.

Oh- just thought of another question...I DO like to be organized....If I am able to use 4 counter service, table service and snack credits per a day, will the counter service and table service credits be counted seperatly (2 adult, 2 child) on each receipt? So, if we go to a table service, the receipt will state 2 Adult, 2 Child = ? left. Does counter service do this as well? (seperate recipts?) I am assuming snacks are just lumped together at 4 per day. (no matter adult OR child credits) I like to be organized, and since our youngest will be often sharing meals off my plate, it would be nice to keep track of exactly what is left, and for whom. :)

Hi, if I remember correctly the snack credits will give you one receipts showing the total left. You are given one counter service, one table service and one snack for each night that you are staying, but you are allowed to use more than one a day. When we stayed in Oct. we had 7 snack credits left and my husband just went and used them all at once for snacks that we took to the airport with us.

i believe if you get the deluxw dining plan you get the mug free

It says going this December though, as in next month. The Deluxe Dining Plan does not take effect until after the new year. :)

The deluxe plan isn't offered until next year, but yes, the refillable mug is included.

After each usage, you will get a receipt which shows how may credits you have used - but only for that type of credit. Youcan also check at your resort, and they can tell you how many credits you have left.

I've been to WDw quite a few times, but the last trip was our first using DDP. One strategy we've always used in the past was to keep our park tickets together when we're inthe parks - that way one person can run off and go get fastpasses for everyone. the downside with DDp/room key/tickets being on one ticket is that we can no longer do that. Or at least not the way we used to. one timesaver we've used inthe past was to send our fastpass runner off while the rest of us waited in line for our quickservice lunch. Or else one of us would grab asnack to share while our runner was off. DDP also makes it harder to skip ADR's, since the meals are essentially pre-paid. You don't really want to try to use a TS credit for a mere QS meal - especially when you're talking about a whole family doing it

Ok, so, is the system smart enough to assign meals per each card, or is it for the entire group? I hadn't really thought through some of these practicalities - do we have to give all 4 passes when ordering for the 4 of us? Do I have to figure out which card has snacks left, or can I use any of them so long as we have snacks left? (I figure we are most likely to do full meals all at the same time, but snackage could vary quite greatly). The brochure makes it sound like it is all done electronically, so I would *hope* I could use any one of the four cards to use DDP credits - is that correct?

Each card has all of the credits on it- you don't have to hand over 4 cards for 4 TS meals. Just hand over any card, and the credits are deducted from the total. Each card will then reflect the number of credits left.

i.e.: 2 of you can go off and order a CS meal and use one card to "pay" for it. All of your cards will reflect the deduction of the 2 CS credits. All of you can use your own card for snacks if you seperate, but you can use one card for dinner for everyone when you are together.

Hope I explained it so it's easy to understand:thumbsup2 !!

Good - I was hoping it was like that! I suddenly got worried mainly that if the family split up, I'd have to keep track to make sure the kids had their own cards, etc. Tho I suppose I might need to do that for FASTPASS, anyhow? Urgh.
