How does the on hold booking for DCL work?

Do you have to have your cruise completed within two years of getting it, or do you just have to board within two years? If it is the former, then I will probably just get my money back now, we had assumed the latter though.

The cruise must start within the 24 month window. You can calculate that date here:

Just as a note, time was that it did have to be completed within the window, but that changed a couple of years ago.

That was what we thought, but the European vacation info we just got in the mail said our travel must be completed by the time we hit the 2 year window. We originally did this so we could try out a new line one year and come back to DCL the next, hoping we can still do that.

I think they're still using old information brochures/sheets. It's been mentioned before that people are getting that same line "must be completed...." but, unless they've changed it back (and I don't think that likely) it should read the same as the flyer handed out onboard. That says "Guests making a booking onboard must sail within 24 months after the date the original booking was made onboard."
