How does one get on the list for a pin?

I'm sure this question has been answered a million times, but going through posts with 100+ replies is time consuming. Do you have to have been to WDW before? This is our first trip, so I doubt we are on any "list". Can I call and get on a list for a pin? Thanks.

No there's no actual list. Unfortunatly there's no rhyme or reason for them either. Suggestions Are to order a vacation DVD from their website or play around with a vacation and save it.

That is what I usually do. One year I got PINs every month in the snail mail, e-mail, anytime there was a promo, I got a PIN. This year....nada!

PINs are promotional codes offered to you by Disney via e-mail or snail mail. They are promotions for room discounts, free dining, etc. if you travel during the time frame that they give you and book by a certain date. The PIN code is under your name, so you cannot give it to someone else. I would imagine that they are international as well?
