Not sure how the memory maker works. Do you have to get the pictures taken put on your magic bands or do you use a card. Is there a card to pick up and where do you get them from

I'm clueless about how it works so please help.
thanks.

When you purchase Memory maker (MM) early you will receive a card in the mail. Your MM should also be linked to your MDE account. The Magic Bands also work with the MM. Just have the photographer scan your band after they take the photo and it will be in your MM account. We never used the MM card, except to get the account number off of it. Ride photos automatically appear in your account, too. :)

We leave in less than a month. We got our package with our luggage tags, but no MM card. I am assuming we just use the band?

Sorry to highjack.....but can I please add a follow-up Memory Maker question?

My Sister purchased Memory Maker and we are traveling together (in separate rooms). Can we share her Memory Maker, since most of our pictures will be together or do I need to get my own Memory Maker? What happens if I want a picture and she isn't with me?

When I went in June (purchased MM with reservation in January) we did not receive any card for Memory Maker. The photographer just scanned our bands for us. Worked perfectly.

WildMouser, I am going to guess that since Memory Maker is linked to a specific reservation that pictures you have them take of only you will not show up with all the pictures you take with your sister (sister's band). However, I remember on a trip we took several years ago that we had not purchased Photopass and they gave us a card to use and we were able to purchase photos through that card. That was around 6 years ago though. I am sure they have a way you can buy pictures without MM.

We received no card for our October trip - photographers scanned our band to capture the photos. Occasionally a photographer at a group thing like jedi training or enchanted tales would hand us a card with a code to link all those photos instead of them automatically going into our account. In that case, I HIGHLY recommend taking that card to a photo store in the park (near the entrance at each park, I think) or downtown disney because they can quickly help you select only your photos from the group vs getting shots of every guest at the attraction with you. If you enter the card code online youself, you get all photos and it's very cumbersome to remove them.

Wildmouser - my family was 12 people in 4 different rooms, 4 different reservation numbers and we shared memory maker. All members of the group must be listed in MDE as "family and friends" and must each be set to "this person can view and purchase my photos". Then, any member of the group can get their band scanned by a photographer or ride and it will show up in your account, even if you are not together or not in the room of the person who bought MM.

Only the person who bought MM can do unlimited downloads for free, though. That person will either have to burn a CD for everyone or share their password so you can all get the digital copies.

It was a great bargain for a group who stopped at least 1-2 times per day for photos, did character meets and ride photos. Smaller groups who don't meet many characters sometimes say it's better for them to just get pictures taken and buy a la carte instead of prepaying $150

I purchased memory maker, which I linked to my park pass and magic band. Do I need to have all pictures that we have take in the park scanned to my magic band or can I link the memory maker card to both me and my husband?

As long as you're listed on the same reservation, and I think still have to set permissions to "has permission to view and purchase photos", either one of you can scan your band.

To assign permission to add or view photos, is it the Reassign Download Privileges link on the MDE page? It will only let me select one and it looks as if it is taking it from me. Or do I need to wait to do this until after our Magic Bands are entered into the system?
Also, privileges can only be assigned to someone who has a Disney Account? If that is correct, then I will have to have DSIL and DBIL set up accounts to link their bands too.

Do you go to a separate website to manage your memory maker photos or is everything handled through MDE?

You can get there through MDE, but I usually type "mydisneyphotopass" directly into a browser to get there in fewer steps.

I had all members of my traveling party listed in MDE as Family and Friends even though some had their own MDE account and some did not. We booked a package, so tickets were included from the beginning, I don't know how this works if you don't have every person's name & ticket listed in MDE yet. On the Family & a Friends page of MDE (not the memory maker page) click edit next to each friend's name and on the next screen, select "this friend can view and purchase my photopass photos". If they have an MDE account, they will have to make sure to click the same button under your name, so that the viewing and sharing works both directions.

Do they send them to you printed? or can you only download them? Sorry for sounding stupid....

You get them as downloads. You can purchase a CD for an extra cost - $29.95, or you can purchase prints at a very expensive price per print :faint:.

As others ahve said, you simply get your picture taken and they scan your magic band. If you don't have a magic band, then I believe they put it on your card. (We got a card in the mail but never used it). Some places such as Jedi Training, BBB, ETWB, will give you a card to transfer to your MDE account...where all photos are availalbe.

Although it's not cheap, we loved it and got over 270 photos. We just stopped whenever we saw a photographer...plus they at some of the things we went to (CRT, Chef Mickeys, BBB, park character greets), etc
The qualitfy is also excellent, which I noticed when getting my photo book back which included a mix of MM photos and our own photos.

I purchased Photopass plus the past two years and a CD of all our photos was included. Is the CD no longer included?

The CD is no longer included, just full-size downloads (zipped) of all the pictures. I think you can still purchase a CD if you choose. By doing the downloads, you get them instantly--no time waiting for mail. You can burn your own backup CD/DVD(s). I understand if you have a slow connection or do your home internet through a cellular provider this might not be a great option.

Yeah, I ended up downloading them - it only took a minute or so. I just liked receiving the DVDs in the mail! Call me lazy! lol
