How does luggage pick up work if you're staying @ WDW the night before the cruise?

Hi everyone,

This has probably been asked before but I'll be arriving late into MCO the night before my cruise and I was wondering if DCL picks up your luggage from your room or do I have to take it with me to the terminal? If they do pick it up in the morning do they just go into my room and see which bags have the tags and take them? I'll probably be in the parks so I won't be around to greet them.

Assuming you're using DCL transfers you'll get a note in your hotel room the night before your cruise, telling you what time to expect luggage pick-up from your room, and what time to meet your cruise agent in the hotel lobby.

As noted, if you are using DCL transfers, you'll get a letter in your room the last night telling you what time to have your bags ready for pickup (inside your room). Typically this time is 8:00am. And it will also tell you what time to check in (usually in the lobby somewhere) for the bus. The pick up window for DCL transfers from the resorts is anywhere in the 10:45-12:30 window, but can be a little earlier or later, depending on how many stops the bus is going to make (maximum is 3, usually).

Thanks for the info guys. I am using the DCL transfer so no worries there. I made the mistake of taking a roller with me the last time and I had to lug it around the ship for a few hours until my stateroom was ready lol. I'll have 4 bags this time around so I'm glad DCL will be taking care of them for me. It definitely makes life easier.

Next time you take a roller and not using DCL transfer just put the provided tags on your bags and hand it to a porter before entering the terminal building. If you don't have a tag the porter can get one. No need to lug your suitcase around even if you don't use DCL transfers.

As long as you don't have any wine, beer, water or soft drinks in that roller.

Technically my roller was my "day bag"...it was only a 3-night cruise. I was a noob. pirate:

I think what they are trying to say is if you're bringing on your 2 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of beer, you'll still be dragging it around until your cabin is ready as that is to be in your carry-on and NOT checked baggage.
