How does HHN work?

This year will my first time. Do you need a regular park ticket in addition to the HHN ticket? I won't arrive until around 6pm to check in to the hotel... Is it in both parks or just one? Regular rides open or just haunted houses/scary areas? Any advice for elderly mobility and vision impaired older adults with teenagers? Thank you in advance.

Hhn is a separate park ticket

It is held in one park, the studios

Correct. Many of the rides are also open.
